Job Description
Seize this thrilling opportunity to contribute to our Investment Banking business as an Analyst within the Global Investment Banking - EMEA Strategic Investors Group (SIG) at J.P. Morgan. Working alongside top-tier professionals in a dynamic team, you'll gain a robust Investment Banking career foundation through hands-on learning, mentorship, and numerous development opportunities. As a key member of our SIG team, you'll play a pivotal role in the origination and execution of projects and mandates related to our client base, including Private Equity Funds, Infrastructure Funds, Sovereign Wealth Funds, Pension Funds, and Family Offices.
The SIG team focuses on the investment banking coverage of Private Equity Funds, Infrastructure Funds, Sovereign Wealth Funds, and Family Offices. These clients are very sophisticated investors, and the breadth of products and services we provide to them is extensive - spanning industries, geographies, and products (M&A, Leveraged Finance / DCM, ECM, structured products / derivatives). We offer debt, equity, and M&A advisory services to our clients as part of their routine activities of acquiring businesses (majority and minority stakes), refinancing/recapitalizing existing investments, or monetizing their mature investments via sale or IPO.
As an Investment Banking Analyst within SIG, you will work as part of a team on the coverage of an exciting client base with strong deal flow in the region and have the opportunity to be part of ongoing origination and transaction execution across different sectors and products. The role will allow the Analyst to further develop a broad technical skillset and deep understanding of the broader financial sponsors landscape.
Job Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality deliverables such as marketing materials and analyses for clients or for internal use.
  • Participate in pitches and deal executions across products, interacting with senior colleagues, clients, potential investors, and other advisors.
  • Coordinate with the industry, product, and country teams to ensure correct prioritization, positioning, and delivery of relevant content to our clients.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Previous work experience in Investment Banking, Private Equity, consulting, or a similar field
  • Sector and product exposure: desire to work across sectors and products and gain exposure to various types of transactions.
  • Technical proficiency: analytical mindset and overall corporate finance proficiency.
  • Ownership and initiative: ability to take ownership across a project/transaction, with exposure to industry, country, and product teams.
  • Multi-tasking: ability to show initiative and support across several transactions in parallel, managing time appropriately across competing demands.
  • Team collaboration: ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Client engagement: ability to engage and interact professionally with clients and other advisors.
  • Communication and project management: excellent written and verbal communication, and project management skills.

This role encompasses the performance of regulated activity. The successful candidate will therefore be subject to meeting regulatory requirements in the assessment of fitness, propriety, knowledge, and competence (as assessed by the Firm) and (where appropriate) approval by the relevant regulatory authorities to carry out such activities.
