Purpose of the Position
Pantheon’s Infrastructure & Real Assets team is a fast-growing platform that manages over $21 billion of capital globally (as of June 2024), across secondaries, co-investments, and fund commitments. The team invests in a variety of sectors, including transportation, power & renewables, utilities, digital infrastructure, and social infrastructure. The team invests on a global basis, with investment professionals based in New York, San Francisco, London, and Singapore.
The Investment Analyst will support the Global Infrastructure & Real Assets Investment team by providing transaction support in deal execution (GP-led secondaries, LP portfolio secondaries, co-investments, and primary fund selection), asset management, and other ad-hoc projects and initiatives to promote growth of the team and wider business
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Evaluate investment opportunities through financial modeling and due diligence
- Prepare and present investment recommendations to the Investment Committee on deal findings and other analyses
- Assist with deal closing processes alongside the legal counsel
- Assist in the management of existing portfolio funds and investments
- Active oversight and monitoring of key deals across portfolio
- Support client and fundraising requests and participate in client and fundraising meetings
- Support active maintenance of the pipeline file
- Conduct market and sector research for use in pitchbooks, client materials or external publications
- Represent the team and build rapport with partners and counterparties by attending GP/company board meetings, industry events, and other ad-hoc meetings
- Ongoing input to materials related to portfolio updates for Pantheon’s comingled funds and separate accounts
Knowledge and Experience Required:
- Prior knowledge and deal experience (3+ years) in infrastructure & real assets, private equity, investment banking, consulting, corporate development, or related roles
- Strong financial modelling skills (DCFs, Project Financing, LBOs) and comparative analysis, ability to understand financial statements, interpret and calculate key financial metrics
- Analytically rigorous with an understanding of the fundamentals of different infra (sub) sectors
- Ability to learn quickly, take initiative and handle a large amount of responsibility early on
- Interest in working in a fast-paced deal execution environment with the ability to perform well under pressure with minimum supervision to meet tight deadlines
- Self-motivated and resourceful; able to multi-task and focus on delivering results
- Strong problem solving, influencing and relationship building skills – ability to build relationships internally and externally with General Partners, clients, brokers, consultants, and management teams
- Bachelor's or Master's degree with specialization in business administration or finance, engineering or related fields. MBA, CFA are a plus
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to travel on a varying basis
