Job Description

International Tax Reporting & Compliance Manager

Wotton under Edge / hybrid

Up to £75,000 depending on experience

We currently have an opportunity for an International Tax Reporting & Compliance Manager to join our Group Tax team based in Wotton-Under-Edge.

Responsibilities

  • Country-by-Country reporting – manage the preparation and submission of CbCR (including public CbCR when applicable), identifying and implementing process improvements where applicable and ensure compliance with notification requirements across the Group. 

  • BEPS Pillar 2 compliance – including managing business preparations for BEPS Pillar 2 reporting, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to implement systems changes and design processes to enable the business to meet its reporting requirements.

  • Overseas tax compliance monitoring - ensure the tax compliance monitoring platform is kept up to date and develop / implement / manage monitoring systems for upward feedback; Work with colleagues to identify any changes or further opportunities to optimise use of the platform and develop/ implement changes as appropriate; Support preparation of overseas tax returns and review where required.

  • Overseas tax risk register – input into the identification, mitigation and monitoring of overseas tax risks across the group.

  • Transfer pricing documentation compliance – prepare annual documentation risk assessment and co-ordinate programmes of overseas transfer pricing documentation preparation to support intra-group transactions in compliance with local regulations globally.  This will include contributing to transfer pricing documentation strategy.

  • Financial reporting – support with the year-end tax reporting of overseas entities for group reporting purposes, reviewing tax packs and contributing to consolidation processes in addition to responding to external audit queries.

  • Controlled foreign companies – manage the preparation of CFC analyses to support the preparation of UK tax computations.

  • Intragroup financing & profit repatriation - advising on tax aspects of overseas structuring financing and profit remittance, ensuring withholding tax clearances and certificate of residence or similar are in place where required.

  • ERP systems transformation – monitor corporate tax risks linked to the rollout of ERP systems changes in overseas territories, understanding the systems configuration and identifying process / automation improvements to facilitate tax various tax reporting requirements.

  • Business relationships – build and maintain excellent working relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.  Keep up to date with latest developments and keep colleagues appraised.  Identify training needs and implement as appropriate.

Key requirements

  • Degree (or equivalent) qualified in Finance, Law, Economics or similar, and be ACA or CTA qualified, with at least 3+ years’ post qualification experience in a similar role

  • Proven advisory and compliance experience across direct tax, international tax and transfer pricing with a willingness and flexibility to broaden your role into other areas of tax if required.

  • Strong analytical skills and a high attention to detail.  You will be highly literate and numerate with problem solving skills, and an ability to document research and conclusions drawn to ensure a robust audit trail.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with different stakeholders and convey complex information in an understandable manner with the ability to adapt to the audience. 

  • Ability to demonstrate a collaborative team-working approach within the Group Tax team and wider organisation, contributing to group-wide objectives.

  • Strong Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
