International Royalty Accountant - Fanatics Collectibles

Fanatics Collectibles is seeking a Royalty Senior Accountant / Accountant to support the growing complexity of our international royalty accounting and reporting processes. This role will play a critical part in strengthening controls, improving balance sheet accuracy, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, particularly for international agreements. This is a full time role, in the designated office 5 days per week. 

Key Responsibilities

Royalty Accounting & Reporting

• Prepare and review royalty calculations across multiple international regions and partners
• Manage royalty reporting processes to ensure accurate and timely submission in accordance with contractual requirements
• Prepare royalty payment support packages, ensuring appropriate documentation of contract terms and calculations
• Support intercompany recharge processes and coordinate royalty-related payments

Contract Management & Compliance

• Review and interpret licensing and partnership agreements to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Monitor and track contractual obligations, including complex and non-standard terms
• Maintain and support contract cost amortization schedules
• Assist with accounting for fixed fees, sponsorships, marketing agreements, and other contractual arrangements

Balance Sheet & Financial Controls

• Perform balance sheet reconciliations
• Perform prepaid versus accrued royalty analysis 
• Consolidate prepaid and accrued royalty decks 
• Support balance sheet clean-up initiatives and strengthen overall accounting controls 

Systems, Reporting & Analysis

• Perform analytical review, reconciliation, and documentation to ensure sales data accuracy and alignment to accounting system 
• Support preparation of International Future Obligations Schedule 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of accounting experience (Senior Accountant level preferred)
• Experience with royalty accounting, contract accounting, or revenue/accrual-based accounting strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of accruals, prepaids, and amortization accounting
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
• Advanced Excel skills; PowerBI experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret complex contractual language
