About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced Business Manager to lead International Compliance strategy and business management reporting to Head of International Compliance (HOC) and working closely with both the HOC and the Leadership team.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage the International Compliance expense and budget management including cost oversight, forecasting, reporting and managing travel and training budgets.
  • Run strategic department and bank wide change initiatives for the HOC on topics such as culture.
  • Develop and execute the HOC compliance strategy to align with Enterprise Compliance strategy and wider International Business objectives; creation of a rolling annual roadmap which sets out how the HOC compliance strategy will be delivered.
  • Be Responsible for the creation and delivery of department communication plan including townhalls, newsletters and coffee connects.
  • Work closely on behalf of HOC with internal stakeholders, including Finance, Regulatory Relations, HR and other teams on HOC ad hoc requests as needed.
  • Oversee the International Compliance Leadership Team (ICLT) and International Compliance extended leadership team meetings, action trackers and information cascading.
  • Create and maintain the International Compliance intranet and SharePoint sites and organisation charts.
  • Produce routine documents, presentation and reports for the HOC, perform data entry operations where required.
  • Ensure that the International Compliance business continuity plan is adequate and complete.
  • Work closely with HOC to create a workforce strategy to ensure the skills and capability of the International Compliance team remains adequate.
  • Assist HOC on-people management processes including succession planning, hiring, leavers and annual processes such as compensation, promotions and ratings.
  • Maintain International Compliance organisation charts.
  • Set up and running of ICLT offsites, volunteering and department socials.
  • Monitor with HOC the results of the GES and other surveys for the International Compliance function.
  • Oversee certain SMF16 items including the material decisions log, governance and reporting on behalf of the HOC.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
  • Significant experience in business management with experience providing support to senior level executives and able to face off across multiple lines of business and wider senior leaders and being used to handle sensitive information with discretion, maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all dealings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to think logically and consider alternatives to provide practical solutions based on a broad understanding of relevant factors.
  • Dynamic, highly motivated, target oriented and professionally always committed.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask and use initiative.
  • Ability to work under conflicting priorities and pressures; role often requires a high degree of flexibility and re-prioritization at short notice and ability to be flexible on hours and office attendance.
  • Proven track record for consistently meeting and exceeding goals and delivering a superior level of job performance.
  • Resilient, proactive, and hands-on with a can-do attitude.
  • Meticulous approach with a high attention to detail.
  • Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at the executive level.
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic plans and roadmaps at an executive level.
  • Proven experience in leading change initiatives within a complex, global organisation.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Financial certifications (e.g. ACCA, ACA or CFA) are a plus.
  • Ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
