The Role

We are growing quickly and have hired more than 40 people in the last 12 months. We are looking for a Technical Recruiter to help us find and engage exceptional technical people across HFT, AI, quantitative research, and systematic trading.

This is not a traditional HR role - you will work directly with the leadership team, researchers, and engineers to understand what we are building, where the team needs to grow, and what great looks like for each role.

You will be close to the business, turning our hiring needs into focused market mapping, direct sourcing, candidate engagement, and high-quality hiring processes.

Our team includes people from DeepMind, Jump Trading, Tower Research, NVIDIA, and other leading technology and trading firms. Every hire matters. The people we bring into DeepFin directly shape the quality of our research, the resilience of our systems, and the pace at which we build.

 
Core Responsibilities
  • Own technical sourcing across key roles, from taking briefs with leadership through to mapping the market, identifying candidates, managing outreach, and supporting candidates through the process.
  • Build strong pipelines across AI, machine learning, quantitative research, low-latency engineering, C++, Java, trading systems, and infrastructure.
  • Use a range of sourcing channels, including direct headhunting, LinkedIn, GitHub, referrals, research networks, universities, specialist communities, and competitor mapping.
  • Work closely with hiring managers to understand role requirements, calibrate candidate quality, and provide useful market feedback.
  • Track candidates and pipelines properly, including outreach activity, conversion, feedback, bottlenecks, and next steps.
  • Help improve our sourcing processes, outreach templates, interview structures, scorecards, candidate notes, and reporting.
  • Represent DeepFin to candidates in a way that is credible, selective, and clear about the level of technical ambition here.
  • Build long-term relationships with strong candidates, even where the timing is not immediately right.
What We Require
  • 4+ years of experience in technical recruitment, talent sourcing, executive search, agency recruitment, or another role involving direct outreach and relationship management.
  • Experience recruiting technical candidates, ideally across HFT, systematic trading, hedge funds, AI, machine learning, low-latency engineering, C++, Java, infrastructure, or quantitative research.
  • A proactive sourcing mindset. You do not wait for applicants - you map markets, identify strong people, and approach them directly.
  • Strong judgement and the ability to understand what makes a technical candidate stand out in a specialist environment.
  • Clear, direct communication with candidates, hiring managers, and senior leadership.
  • High standards for detail, organisation, process, and follow-through.
  • Comfort speaking with highly technical candidates and learning enough about specialist roles to represent them properly.
Helpful, but Not Required
  • A background in computer science, software engineering, quantitative research, or another technical field.
  • Experience sourcing from HFT firms, systematic trading firms, hedge funds, AI companies, high-growth technology firms, or strong engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, GitHub, applicant tracking systems, technical communities, research publications, or university networks.
  • Experience building candidate pipelines or sourcing processes from scratch.
