Internal Communications Business Partner
Permanent, full-time
Hybrid – Hatfield Head Office

Why Ocado Logistics?

At Ocado Logistics, we’re transforming the way the world shops. Through cutting-edge technology, rapid site expansion and exciting global partnerships, we support an outstanding customer experience for our partners and customers — every single day.

With over 16,000 colleagues across the UK, from delivery drivers and personal shoppers to engineers and corporate teams, how we communicate has never mattered more. Clear, engaging internal communications play a vital role in keeping our people connected to our purpose, priorities and each other.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an Internal Communications Business Partner to join our Internal Communications team and play a key role in shaping how we engage our people across Ocado Logistics.

This is an exciting, high-impact role with a focus on hands-on  communications delivery, reporting into the Head of Internal Communications. You’ll partner closely with stakeholders across the business to shape and deliver communications that truly land, engage, and connect colleagues -  from frontline teams to head office - helping colleagues stay informed, inspired, and aligned with the business.

No two days will be the same. You’ll work across a broad range of topics, audiences and channels, balancing pace with quality in a complex operational environment. This is a role with visibility, autonomy and real influence - where you’ll help define “what good looks like” for internal communications, contribute to continuous improvement, and play an active part in strengthening engagement across the business.

We’re looking for someone passionate about internal communications - someone who genuinely cares about how messages land and understands the role communications plays in building clarity and connection.

You will have experience at either Business Partner, Specialist, or Officer level, advising stakeholders, contributing fresh ideas, and helping bring communications to life across the business. You will have experience working in  front-line organisations such as retail, FMCG,  retail, aviation, manufacturing or similar organisations with a front-line population.

What You’ll Be Doing

From a strategic perspective, you’ll work closely with senior stakeholders to shape communication approaches, narratives, engagement plans, and messaging for business priorities, change initiatives, and operational updates.

On the delivery side, you’ll take ownership of creating and executing engaging communications - from leadership briefings and campaigns to digital content, intranet updates, and site-based messaging. You’ll see your work resonate across the organisation, making a tangible difference in how colleagues feel informed, connected, and engaged.

You will:

  • Advise on communication strategies for business priorities, operational updates and change initiatives
  • Create engaging content across multiple channels, including intranet, digital platforms, leadership briefings and site communications
  • Ensure messages are clear, consistent and tailored to diverse frontline and head office audiences
  • Use engagement data and feedback to continuously improve communication effectiveness
  • Collaborate closely with the wider Internal Communications team to align messaging and ways of working

What we’re looking for

  • Experience at both an advisory and hands-on level within internal communications.
  • Proven experience developing and executing internal communication strategies for diverse audiences.
  • Hands-on experience in frontline operational communications, understanding the needs of colleagues on the shop floor, warehouse or other non-desk roles.
  • Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex information and create engaging, audience-focused content.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, thriving in a very busy, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, with proven ability to influence and challenge stakeholders at all levels.
  • Understanding of communication coaching techniques and confidence coaching leaders
  • Experience managing an intranet or other digital communication platforms, including content creation, governance, scheduling, publishing and analytics.
  • Knowledge of best-practice channel management and success measures, including digital tools (e.g., intranet platforms, video messaging, email, CMS).

What you can expect to receive in return

At Ocado we believe in a workplace where everyone feels valued and supported, so you’ll find a safe and collaborative atmosphere that is as fresh as our produce as well as an award winning recognition programme and benefits package that includes a healthy work-life balance, extensive healthcare coverage, competitive salaries, and exclusive employee discounts.
