ABOUT THE ROLE

As part of CHANEL's new Global Communications team headquartered in London, the Communications Generalist will play an important role in shaping and delivering the internal communications across the organisation. You will help connect people, purpose and place through engaging and informative storytelling, clear messaging, and creative engagement.

Working within a collaborative global team and communications colleagues, you will help bring CHANEL’s vision to life for employees, ensuring they stay informed and inspired in their daily work and through periods of change.

You will lead communication plans, manage channels, and deliver content, events, and engagement activations. You will contribute to our audience and channel strategy while being hands-on in the creation, coordination, and delivery of day-to-day communications and projects.

This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, delivery-focused, and eager to grow their strategic communications capabilities within a global, fast-moving environment.

IMPACT YOU CAN CREATE AT CHANEL

Project Delivery & Leadership:

  • Support the planning and delivery of internal communications initiatives of varying scale.
  • Act as a dependable, self-starting project coordinator, ensuring timelines, logistics, materials, and stakeholders are well managed.
  • Contribute strategic thinking while primarily owning operational execution.

Channel Operations & Governance:

  • Manage and update global internal communication channels (e.g., intranet, newsletters, digital platforms).
  • Help reinforce global standards and processes to ensure consistent effective use of channels.

Audience Planning & Engagement:

  • Support the identification of key audiences and stakeholders.
  • Help develop and activate communication plans that respond to audience needs and behaviours.

Content Creation & Delivery:

  • Draft and edit clear, compelling content in multiple formats (announcements, newsletters, scripts, presentations, etc.).
  • Support the development of storytelling approaches, visual assets, and multi-channel plans.
  • Partner with production teams and vendors as needed.

Change Support:

  • Translate complex or technical information into accessible, engaging content that supports ongoing business transformation.
  • Apply basic change communication principles under guidance from senior team members.

Engagement & Experience Delivery:

  • Help plan and execute calendars of engagement activities for Global Headquarters and for our people across CHANEL.
  • Coordinate logistics for events, campaigns, and moments that bring CHANEL culture and priorities to life.

Measurement & Continuous Improvement:

  • Conduct measurement activities such as surveys and feedback collection.
  • Track performance of communication activities and provide insights to inform improvements.

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing:

  • Collaborate closely with the global communications community and contribute best practices.
  • Support colleagues across internal and external communications, and participate in shared learning.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING/HAVE

  • Commitment to excellence and continuous improvement, with a strong  attention to detail and specificity while maintaining awareness of big picture implications.
  • Anticipatory and self-motivated mindset, thriving in collaborative team environments.
  • Ability to embody a standard of excellence for translating complex information into clear, simple, and impactful written and verbal communications, in line with brand guidelines and with a flair for storytelling.
  • Comfort working within a team in active evolution, contributing to a communications strategy and team structure that are being defined and refined in real time, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and help shape the future state.
  • Event planning experience and strong organisational, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills required.
  • Proficiency with tools such as PowerPoint, Teams, Microsoft Office Suite, as well as comfort with emerging technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience managing intranet platforms (LumApps preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience in internal communications within a fast-paced, matrixed environment (agency or in-house) preferred
