About the role

As a trusted advisor, this role plays a key part in fostering and nurturing strong business relationships while delivering independent, value-added programme assurance and advisory services. It presents a unique opportunity for career growth and development.
The primary responsibility of the role is to assist the Programme Assurance Manager in conducting programme and project assurance reviews. This includes evaluating business risks, assessing processes, and scrutinizing internal controls to provide an unbiased assessment of programme and project governance.
Additionally, the role will support the Internal Audit Team in performing independent evaluations of Ocado’s financial and operational processes, including reviewing associated IT controls.
The successful candidate will be expected to continually expand their knowledge of programme assurance, IT risk, and control compliance, providing actionable recommendations for control enhancements throughout their work.

Accountabilities

Programme Assurance

  • Assist the Programme Assurance Audit Manager in the development of a comprehensive audit plan designed to provide stakeholders with confidence that key projects and programmes will achieve their objectives and deliver anticipated benefits.
  • Assist the Programme Assurance Manager in the planning and delivery of programme assurance reviews, prioritising key risk areas within projects and programmes, and focussing on governance, risk management and internal controls.
  • Support in the testing of controls, analysis of data, and evaluation of compliance with policies, regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Contribute to the preparation of clear and actionable reports for management, highlighting critical risks, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of project and programme assurance practices by providing feedback and insights gained through the audit process.
  • Support the monitoring of trends and recurring issues, and oversee the implementation of recommendations to ensure corrective actions are effectively completed within agreed timelines.

Internal Audit Support

  • Assist in planning and delivering a diverse range of financial, operational, and technological reviews in collaboration with other members of the Internal Audit team.
  • Help document and test controls ensuring alignment with audit standards.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Support the team in raising  awareness and embedding strong risk management, control  and compliance requirements across the organisation. 

About you

  • 1-2 years of experience within Internal Audit, project delivery or working within a key project control function such as a Project Management Office (PMO).
  • Understanding of risk management and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications, as well as collaboration tools such as Slack and JIRA.
