Key Responsibilities May Include:
- Develop and manage the organization’s audit processes in accordance with the Institute of Internal Auditors International Professional Practice Framework, ensuring best-in-class audit practices.
- Lead the design and execution of a comprehensive risk-based audit plan, addressing business risks and control concerns identified by management or the Audit & Risk Committee.
- Collaborate with business leaders to define the scope and objectives for each audit, ensuring thorough risk assessments and targeted control evaluations.
- Engage and manage external providers of internal audit services, ensuring effective oversight and alignment with organizational goals.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of audit work papers and reports, ensuring compliance with internal standards and accuracy before presenting to senior management and the Audit & Risk Committee.
- Mentor, guide, and develop internal audit professionals, creating opportunities for continuous skill development and career progression within the team.
- Lead internal reviews of business processes, risk management practices, and control systems, providing actionable insights that enhance business performance and ensure the adequacy of internal controls.

Brambles is seeking an Internal Audit Director to join our London based team. This role centres on developing our people, strengthening key relationships, and bridging the gap between first line management activities and the wider risk, controls, and assurance environment.
You will play a pivotal role in leading complex engagements and supporting a diverse portfolio of stakeholders across our process and controls solutions. Success in this position requires industry experience and the confidence to build trusted relationships with Csuite leaders. As a strategic trusted advisor, you will guide internal business customers through evolving risks, helping them understand the implications for internal controls and reporting.
🎯 What We’re Looking For
Proven track record in managing people within an internal audit, risk or operational functions within global (particularly EMEA and AMETA), complex organisations.
Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks, audit methodologies, and corporate governance.
Possess a robust network of relationships and industry knowledge across relevant key risk areas.
Detailed understanding and demonstratable track record of compliance with quality and risk management principles.
Demonstrate business acumen through an ability to understand the broader business context, considering financial, operational, compliance and strategic aspects.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to influence at Board level and drive strategic change.
ACA, ACCA, or CIA qualified with solid post qualification experience (or other specialist risk qualification) preferred.
