Join our dynamic Business Development Manager team to work with our own internal financial planners. It's an exciting period at Quilter Cheviot, with a strong Modern MPS proposition and Climate Asset Funds boasting over 14 years of history. In addition to this, collaborate with our talented Investment Managers on discretionary and AIM services, for clients with complex needs.
The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of financial advice and advisers, possess at least a level 4 industry qualification, and demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit to explore new opportunities in this national role. This role offers an exciting challenge for an experienced BDM.

This newly established role is crucial in creating and generating new opportunities for our dual expertise model of investment management and financial planning.  This could include working alongside our colleagues in Professional Services as well as with our Marketing Team on direct client events.

Key responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Head of Advice Business Development, you will collaborate with the Investment Management teams to attract new investment clients through Financial Advisers throughout the UK. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Work collaboratively with Financial Planners, Investment Managers and our Professional Services Channel in creating activity and opportunities for lead generation

  • Promoting Quilter Cheviot's discretionary investment proposition, Climate Assets Funds, MPS solution, AIM portfolio, and other relevant services to our internal financial planners.

  • Establishing an annual target with the Head of Advice Business Development for introducing new investment management business.

  • Meeting the new business target and any other relevant key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • To agree with Head of Advice Business Development the methods and direction of sales initiatives

  • Regularly provide reports to the Head of Advice Business Development using the standardised format.

  • Develop and actively use a business plan template (with guidance from management) to classify advisers in the region for concentrated efforts.

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal Financial Advisers and Quilter Cheviot Investment Managers.

  • Attend business development meetings as required.

  • Maintain regular communication with local Investment Directors, Investment Managers, the and the Head of Advice Business Development

  • Acquire comprehensive knowledge of the company’s products and services, understanding when they are appropriate for existing and prospective clients.

  • Keep clear and precise records of contacts and visits and ensure the corporate CRM system is consistently up-to-date.

Consumer Duty:

Even though this role doesn't directly interact with the end customers, you need to understand our target market and evaluate the value of each service for financial advisers to ensure positive customer outcomes.

About You

We are seeking a seasoned Business Development Manager with expertise in the financial adviser sector. The position demands that the candidate independently manage their workload, with bi-weekly oversight from their immediate manager. Therefore, strong self-organization skills and a sense of personal responsibility are crucial. The role involves close collaboration with marketing, investment management teams, and the wider intermediary sales team across all offices.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • At least an industry Level 4 qualification

  • Relevant experience in financial services within local markets

  • A clean driving license
