The Role:
We are looking for a highly detail-oriented and proactive intern to support our Accessibility Compliance Project. The goal is to ensure that all our 600+ online courses and our Academy Online Training platform meet the standards of the WCAG 2.2. - Level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) in response to the upcoming EU Accessibility Act. You will play a key role in applying accessibility updates to course content and platform pages, ensuring compliance, and maintaining consistency across the platform.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about digital accessibility, e-learning, and LX/UX design.
The work you’ll do:
- Ensure compliance with accessibility guidelines, such as WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) 2.2. - Level AA.
- Apply accessibility updates to our platform, including proper alt text setup for images, updating video captions, and finding alternative ways of presenting our image/text-based content.
- Conduct quality checks to determine that criteria it’s being correctly applied in compliance with accessibility laws.
- Document the process and provide regular progress reports to the project team.
- Work closely with course owners, designers, and platform managers to implement changes effectively.
The qualifications you need:
- Basic experience with HTML and CSS is a must (e.g. text editing, basic styling and knowledge of most common tags), and an interest on AI is highly desirable.
- Basic knowledge of digital accessibility (e.g., understanding alt text, color contrast, screen readers) is highly recommended.
- Attention to detail – Ability to ensure accessibility changes are applied accurately across multiple courses.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) – Familiarity with platforms like Thought Industries or similar e-learning systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken) is required
- Strong organizational skills to manage a large volume of content updates efficiently.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with the team’s goals.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with different stakeholders.
- Experience with Project Management Tools – Knowledge of Monday.com or similar tools (e.g.,Trello, Asana) for tracking tasks and progress is a plus.
