Job Description
Description:
Under the direction of the Quality Manager, the Quality Technician (QA Tech) is expected to help implement, drive, and maintain the Quality System requirements for Kraft Heinz Telford, based on the Quality Risk Management Process (KHMS Quality Pillar). The QA Tech ensures that all Quality Control checks are performed as required and provides support to Operations and other functions (such as Maintenance, Sanitation, Logistics, etc.) on a variety of quality and food safety processes and procedures. The QA Tech is required to perform their daily routines independently, and without direct supervision, while contributing to continuously improving the Quality System.
This is a temporary position lasting for a maximum of 12 months.
Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Carry out not routine chemical, physical and organoleptic testing of raw materials and finished products against agreed procedures and methods during day time hours. Ensure accurate methods are maintained.
  • Ensure upkeep of laboratory equipment to CLAS standard via verification and calibration.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment at all times.
  • Monitor plant hygiene via ATP methods (e.g. Biotrace). Identify trends in non-compliance's and report.
  • Maintain the Housekeeping audits schedule by performing weekly audits.
  • Test all bulk tankers according to procedures during day time hours.
  • Undergo further training if necessary to contribute to increased efficiency of the company. Deputise for other members of the quality department when required.
  • Maintain control of bulk / raw material standards and retention samples to ensure consistency of product. Assess shelf life of bulk sauces and finished product; check retention samples on a monthly basis and report on finding.
  • Maintain the non-conformance system for the site and production paperwork archive.
  • Ensure samples are sent to appropriate third party laboratories on a timely basis.
  • Ensure all test results are logged and database maintained.
  • Maintain collection of raw material documentation including Certificates of Analysis.
  • Audit and sign off QA documentation when completed.
  • Involvement in Golden Rules ESG
  • Responsible for swabbing and airplates and the trends that accompany.


The ideal candidate:
Our ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills and a solid understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. A strong problem solver with excellent math and calculation skills and basic microbiology and processing knowledge.
