About the role

Reporting to the Director of IT Applications and Platforms, the iHub Product Owner ensures that the programme delivers maximum business value for DS Smith by aligning the integration hub's development with the strategic goals. They are day-to-day face of the programme out to the business and work closely with the Programme Manager and the Supplier partner to deliver the programme. This role is crucial for maintaining a clear vision and direction, ensuring that all stakeholders are on the same page, and that the product meets the needs of the business.

If this role is not filled, there could be a lack of clear vision and direction and stakeholder engagement may suffer, resulting in missed requirements, dependencies and reduced trust. Ultimately, the programme may fail to deliver the expected business value.

Accountable for: Ensuring the programme delivers maximum business value for DS Smith in line with strategy and expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Championing the programme, communicating the product vision and goals to stakeholders to ensure a shared and up-to-date understanding.

  • Working closely with the CTO/Architecture and Change and Engagement team on the iHub vision and scoping.

  • Acting as the primary contact on behalf of the customer/business to raise future iHub requirements and support BAs to mature requirements.

  • Preparing material and chairing Steer Co.

  • Regularly engaging with parallel programmes and business stakeholders to earn trust and buy-in, and identify any cross-programme business misalignments.

  • Making day-to-day decisions for designs/questions that are within the agreed scope and do not impact other programmes.

  • Ensuring that the product backlog is prioritised and managed effectively.

  • Facilitating workshops and meetings to gather requirements and feedback from stakeholders to then enter the programme Change process.

  • Shape and lead the transition to new operating models, processes and ways of working

About you

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role in managing large-scale integration projects.

  • Strong understanding of Boomi iPaaS platform and the business transformation opportunities.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience in Agile methodologies and product management tools.

  • Experience working with suppliers to ensure alignment and delivery of requirements.

Nice to have:

  • Understanding of integration patterns, messaging protocols (HTTP, SOAP, REST), and data transformation techniques.

  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS) and integrating with on-premises systems.
