Description:

We have an exciting opportunity to join Marsh’s Insurer Consulting Group in the UK as an Insurance Strategy Consultant.

Marsh’s Insurer Consulting Group (ICG) leads the relationships with our largest strategic insurers. We work closely with insurers to find innovative solutions to remain competitive and deliver actionable insights to help insurers overcome challenges in the ever-changing insurance market.

This opportunity will be based in the London office within the Insights team; ICG’s in-house strategy consulting team that supports insurers across a wide range of strategic projects and delivers regular market insights reporting and carrier analysis.

As our team and business continues to grow, we are looking for capable individuals who can help us sustain and expand our impact with clients. You will be supported by a highly experienced team committed to your success and development.

This is a dual role, primarily focused on consulting and includes aspects of relationship management. You will be:

  • Supporting a variety of strategic engagements, including market leading benchmarking and business intelligence to London Market and UK insurers

  • Contributing to the continued expansion of ICG’s Insights proposition and deliverables, ensuring the team continues to deliver strategic value to our insurers in a continually evolving market

  • Acting as the first point of contact for day-to-day management and communications with designated clients on specific deliverables, whilst working to strengthen and grow account relationships

You will work with all areas of Marsh’s brokerage and Marsh McLennan (MMC) to grow your professional network and interpersonal skills.

An interest in the themes of our work is essential, but extensive experience / qualification is not.

This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least 3 days a week in the office.

We will rely on you to:

  • Lead full cycle of client-facing engagements with reports delivered to multiple insurers, from project origination to presenting results to senior insurer stakeholders.

  • Help insurers assess opportunities for strategic change via projects using data and subject matter experts from across Marsh

  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to insurers by combining quantitative and qualitative analysis

  • Managing accounts day-to-day through structured engagement, implementing clear strategy plans and project management on larger initiatives or complex accounts

  • Develop strong relationships with professional counterparts at client organisations by conducting research, analysis and peer benchmarking studies

What you need to have:

  • 1-3 years’ experience in a relevant strategy consulting role or comparable experience in (re)insurance, internal strategy.

  • Ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at senior levels and strong networking skills to grow and maintain successful relationships both internally and externally

  • Ability to research, compile and deliver presentations

  • Strong core consulting skillset (e.g. hypothesis-driven analysis)

  • Project management skills including organisation, communication and attention to detail

What makes you stand out:

  • Prior strategic insurance and risk consulting experience

  • London Market knowledge

  • High level of quantitative skills and data analytics experience

  • Ability to ‘translate’ client questions to analytical questions to solve

Why join our team

  • Delivering high-impact projects for our strategic clients: You will have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of interesting and high-profile initiatives for insurers, engaging on topics that are front-of-mind for our clients and highly relevant in the current insurance market

  • Learning from industry experts: You will be working alongside a highly experienced team of professionals who bring a depth of expertise and are committed to mentoring and supporting your development

  • Expanding your professional network: You will be building strong connections across the London Market, both within Marsh and through direct client engagement
