Moonshot believes that marginalised people in society — including minority ethnic people, people from working class backgrounds, women, Disabled and LGBTQIA+ people — must be centred in the work we do. We strongly encourage applications from people with these identities or who are members of other communities who are currently underrepresented in our workforce. We know a diverse workforce will enable us to understand drivers behind violent extremism and online harms in an in-depth way and do better work to counter them.

Candidates will be expected to undertake and pass a police check and additional checks for security clearance at an SC level - typically a minimum of three years’ continuous UK residency within the past five years.

About the role:

Moonshot is currently recruiting an Insight Manager to support the delivery of projects within a Serious & Organised Crime (SOC) monitoring programme. In this role, you will manage the day-to-day delivery of analytical projects focused on identifying and assessing organised crime activity online.

You will coordinate a team of analysts conducting OSINT monitoring and analysis, ensuring outputs are delivered on time, to a high standard, and aligned with client requirements. The role combines project management with a strong understanding of analytical workflows, requiring the ability to operate in fast-paced environments and support effective delivery across multiple workstreams.

This is a one-year fixed-term contract, with the potential to become permanent subject to performance and project requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the day-to-day delivery of projects focused on monitoring and analysing organised crime activity online, ensuring outputs are delivered on time and to a high standard.
  • Coordinating workflows across data collection, OSINT monitoring, analysis and reporting.
  • Tasking and supporting a team of analysts, ensuring effective prioritisation of work within high-tempo delivery cycles.
  • Reviewing and quality assuring analytical outputs, including datasets and written reports, to ensure accuracy, consistency and relevance.
  • Tracking project progress against timelines and identifying and mitigating risks to delivery.
  • Supporting the analysis of online organised crime activity, including reviewing large datasets and identifying key patterns, trends and insights.
  • Supporting the development and refinement of research methodologies and processes where needed for project delivery.
  • Managing relationships with clients and supporting the presentation of findings in both written and verbal formats.
  • Contributing to the identification of improvements to workflows, tools and delivery processes.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Candidates will be expected to undertake DBS checks or have, and be willing to apply for SC clearance - typically a minimum of three years’ continuous UK residency within the past five years.
  • Professional experience managing projects involving analysis and investigation using open-source research and OSINT methods.
  • Experience working on or supporting projects focused on serious and organised crime or related public safety issues.
  • Experience coordinating teams or managing delivery within analytical, research or monitoring environments.
  • Strong ability to interpret and work with both quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify patterns and key insights within large datasets.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrable ability to take ownership of tasks and ensure delivery through others.
  • Willingness to be on-call and occasionally work outside regular working hours in response to operational requirements.
  • We require and will check on candidates' eligibility to work in the UK and pass any relevant security clearance procedures per the needs of clients.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with social media datasets or large-scale online data collection.
  • Familiarity with tools used for data analysis, visualisation or database management.
  • Experience working with government or law enforcement clients.
  • Security clearance at SC level or higher in current role.

Benefits
  • 30 days' paid annual leave, excluding bank holidays.
  • Private healthcare package with access to specialist mental health cover, including coverage for partners and children.
  • Employee Assistance Programme providing access to mental health support.
  • Generous maternity and paternity leave: 26 weeks paid maternity leave, 8 weeks paid paternity leave.
  • All permanent employees are granted share options upon employment.

Salary:  £46,000 - £60,000 (depending on skills and experience).
