Infrastructure Equity Associate/Associate Director

This is a great job for someone who has experience in infrastructure and energy M&A experience which will likely have been gained at a leading investment banking, boutique advisor or possibly, another equity investor with demonstrable ‘live deal’ experience.

A bit about the job:

The role focuses on structuring, investing in and managing bespoke equity investments in the sustainable infrastructure and climate transition space across Europe. As an Associate (Director) in the team, you play an instrumental role in delivering the team’s growth ambitions and will be responsible for providing day-to-day leadership, organisation, execution, and mentorship to more junior team members. Responsibilities attained to the role will cover the full lifecycle of our investments including origination, execution, asset management through to disposals. Alongside this you will also support Directors in external market engagement and origination efforts including undertaking and presenting relevant market/sector/investment research while building your own network of potential partners and suitable target assets, and preparing and delivering investment/partnership presentations in a clear and concise manner.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Financially and commercially astute with strong analytical, problem solving and numeracy skills. Advanced technical financial modelling and analysis skills are essential.  Ideally these skills will have been gained in the infrastructure team at an investment bank or M&A advisor.

  • Execution skills across investment research, analysis, structuring and negotiating financing and due diligence (commercial, financial, strategic, legal, technical) through live deal experience.

  • A self-starter with tenacity who is down-to-earth, straightforward, team orientated, hardworking and demonstrates good judgement.

  • Skilled communicator who is thoughtful and commercial with strong written report/presentation and oral skills

  • Ability to demonstrate strong planning and prioritisation skills with an ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, keeping visibility on urgency/importance and re-adjusting prioritization as needed.

What you’ll get for this role:

  • Generous pension scheme - Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on what you put in

  • Eligibility for annual performance bonus

  • Family friendly parental and carer’s leave

  • Generous holiday entitlement plus bank holidays with the option to buy/sell up to 5 additional days

  • Up to 40% discount for Aviva products

  • Brilliant flexible benefits including electric cars

  • Aviva Matching Share Plan and Save As You Earn scheme

  • 21 volunteering hours per year

In this role you’ll be ‘Certified’ under the Financial Conduct Authority / Prudential Regulation Authority’s Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR). This means that we’ll need to complete some regulatory background checks on you before you take up your role and we’ll need to ask you some questions on an annual basis to make sure you remain ‘fit and proper’ and competent to carry out your role. We’ll provide training on what holding a SMCR role means when you join us and annually thereafter.

We’re inclusive and welcome everyone – we want applications from all backgrounds and experiences. Excited but not sure you tick every box? Even if you don’t, we would still encourage you to apply. We also consider all forms of flexible working, including part time and job shares.

We flex locations, hours and working patterns to suit our customers, business, and you. Most of our people are smart working –spending around 50% of their time in our offices every week - combining the benefits of flexibility, with time together with colleagues.
