Position Title: Associate – Infrastructure Credit
Overview:

Position Summary:
GIP Credit, the credit arm of Global Infrastructure Partners, was formed to make primarily “non-equity” investments, with the ability to transact across multiple entry points in the capital stack. GIP Credit targets power, energy, transport, water and waste, digital and other industries or projects with infrastructure-like characteristics. GIP Credit provides financing solutions across a breadth of capital needs, including greenfield and brownfield projects, acquisition finance, liquidity and growth, restructuring and secondary purchases. GIP Credit manages more than $30 billion of assets under management.
GIP Credit has an opportunity for an Associate investment professional to join the team based in London.
Key Responsibilities:
Our investment professionals work on a deal team in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment. They interact with senior members of the firm as well as the senior management of our portfolio companies. Associates are responsible for project and financial modelling, deal assessment and execution, development and review of due diligence reports, market research, portfolio monitoring and general analytics. They will also assist in preparing presentations and pitch books, cash flow analysis, researching and report writing. Key responsibilities include:
- Running and developing financial models in order to analyze investment opportunities
- Evaluating merits and risks of potential investments.
- Supporting and coordinating the due diligence process.
- Working with senior deal team members through the investment review process and the preparation of presentation material for investment committee
- Performing extensive credit analysis.
- Contributing to negotiation of structure and terms and related documentation.
- Ongoing role on portfolio management, monitoring portfolio company performance, working closely with management teams, the GIP Operating Team and GIP Credit’s Portfolio Management Team.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in project or infrastructure finance, infrastructure investing or investment banking in relevant groups including project or infrastructure finance, leverage finance, M&A or coverage groups that include infrastructure, transportation, power & utilities, and oil & gas
- Relevant buyside experience at an infrastructure equity or credit fund helpful but not mandatory
- Undergraduate degree with demonstrated record of academic achievement and leadership
- Strong commercial and analytical abilities
- Demonstrable financial modelling and evaluation skills. In particular, a good understanding of cash flow modelling and sensitivity analysis
- A high level of conviction and commitment to investment in infrastructure
- The ability to thrive in a pressurized environment
- Experience gained through involvement through all aspects of a transaction’s lifecycle
- Excellent project management skills and ability to deliver quality work on schedule
- Experience in GIP Credit’s target sectors
- Ability to thrive in a team-oriented culture and environment.
- Outstanding interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
