Indirect Tax Accountant

F1 are looking for an Indirect Tax Accountant to join their team on an interim basis for 12 months.

The F1 Tax Team is a small, friendly, multi-disciplinary team of specialists. The role will provide interim cover for some of the duties of the Senior Indirect Tax Accountant while on maternity leave. Core duties will include supervising the Indirect Tax Accountant in managing the VAT compliance cycle for UK and overseas VAT returns and assisting with tax authority queries. The preparation of the overseas returns is outsourced to Big Four so there is plenty of technical support. However, the compliance calendar is tight requiring excellent monitoring and project management skills to ensure raw data is processed into accurate, timely VAT reporting and payments.

Specific duties include the following:

• Provide the returns for review to the Indirect Tax Manager, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory requirements (with Big Four support).
• Perform detailed analysis of transactional data, and reconciliation of VAT GL to VAT A/c/ returns.
• Liaise with key stakeholders within the Finance Teams, tax authorities and third parties to assist with queries
• Assist Indirect Tax Manager with technical research

Candidate should have excellent verbal, written and communication skills, be numerate (good with reconciliations and book-keeping)  and have solid inhouse VAT compliance experience.
