The IET Employee Communications Leader will spearhead the strategic vision and execution of employee and culture communications for the Industrial & Energy Technology (IET) business segment at Baker Hughes. This role requires exceptional communication and management skills, along with a passion for employee engagement and cultural alignment. You will play a pivotal role in helping leaders and employees across the organization understand and align with the company’s vision, priorities, and objectives, while inspiring and engaging our teams.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and executing the IET internal communications strategy and communication plans for the IET business segment to a high standard that align with the overall business segment and broader Baker Hughes strategy for growth, as well as Company messaging and Purpose.
  • Working closely with the Baker Hughes Enterprise Internal Communications team, as well as other global functions to adapt and amplify broader Baker Hughes campaigns within IET.
  • Enhancing employee understanding and engagement with the IET business segment strategy by strengthening communications from people leaders and executives.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver strategic communication initiatives that optimize operations, accelerate strategy, and embed our culture.
  • Leading the IET Internal Communication function.
  • Managing internal communication channels and content.
  • Directing and guiding leadership on effective internal communication and change management strategies.
  • Collaborating with the IET Brand & Marketing function and the IET Business Unit Communications & Marketing teams to ensure internal amplification of external campaigns, success stories, articles, press releases and other external communications initiatives.
  • Organizing employee events, meetings, and multimedia programs.
  • Working to increase our people’s use of social media to drive EVP advocacy and attract talent.
  • Managing external resources supporting IET (agencies and vendors).
  • Upholding professional standards, safety, and compliance.
  • Performing other related duties as needed.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, including active listening, rapport-building, and leading by influence with decision-makers at all levels.
  • Over 10 years of experience in internal communications and related fields.
  • Experience working at both operational and strategic levels.
  • Excellent writing, editing, design, and project management skills.
  • Proven experience in stakeholder management and cultivating executive relationships.
  • Deep familiarity with communication tools, platforms and communications data.
  • Extensive experience in creating engaging and purpose-driven content and narratives in corporate, industrial, or B2B settings.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage creative execution across various employee communications media and formats (short-form, long-form, intranet, mobile, social, video, audio/podcasting, infographics, PPT presentations, executive stage time, webinars, employee broadcasts, townhalls, etc.).
  • A passion for storytelling and engaging employees and stakeholders.
  • An adaptable and collaborative mindset in a global, fast-paced, ever-changing environment with tight deadlines.
  • The ability to tailor content and communications for specific audiences, with a deep understanding of messaging, positioning, and stakeholder needs across multiple geographies.
