About the Job

The Hybrid role is predominantly a workshop-based role that allows efficient response to our customer's needs. Hybrid engineers will work in their product channel in the Service Centre and attend customers sites to complete proactive and reactive service and commissioning.

Service Centre

The main focus of the role is the reconditioning of Heat Exchangers and components in the Camberley Service Centre. This includes the dismantling and reporting on the condition of Heat Exchangers, the safe operation of specialist machinery when cleaning the Heat Exchanger components and the manual reconditioning of Heat exchanger parts.

The role involves all aspects of Plate Heat Exchanger reconditioning.

Responsibilities include:

  • Wash down of plates using jet pressure washers
  • Chemical cleaning of units
  • Use of Nitrogen tank for stripping gaskets
  • Use of acid and caustic tanks for chemical cleaning
  • Inspection of plates using fluorescent dye 
  • Gluing and applying gaskets
  • Building and integrity testing of heat exchanger units
  • Interfacing with work procedures and time logging systems
  • Routine maintenance of workshop machinery, equipment and chemicals
  • General workshop duties
  • Ensure quality and health and safety procedures are adhered to
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to manage multiple tasks to suit business demand

Field Service element

Field Service work will be predominantly focussed on Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers in our customer’s process operations. 

Overnight stays are required as part of this role, working across the UK, there may also be a requirement to work offshore.

You will be expected to record service tasks in a clear concise service report and to submit all expenditure related to travel and expenses in a timely manner.

responsibilities include:

  • Commissioning, servicing and fault finding on new and existing thermal equipment.
  • Reading plate specification drawings to ensure correct assembly.
  • Performing site audits to ensure our equipment is performing to its optimum level.
  • Working with the sales team on equipment audits on customer sites to generate new business.
  • Write service reports on site and obtain signature from the customer.
  • Conduct dynamic risk assessment prior to commencing work.
  • Complete ALSOC learnings and assessments as assigned by the mentor.
  • Read, digest and follow maintenance manuals and complete learning logs relative to your product exposure.
  • Proactive recommendation to customers for purchase of spares.
  • Update service execution IT system with relevant information.
  • Meeting KPIs for the service team.

What you know

A working background in mechanical maintenance engineering would be an advantage. Experience with Plate Heat Exchangers is desirable, but not essential, as training will be provided. A full driving license is essential.
