The mission

We are looking for a hands-on Instructional Content Producer to join our Product team. You will help us build Hume Academy — the training program for Hume, our connected data analytics platform used by intelligence analysts and data engineers in mission-critical environments. You will collaborate closely with our products team members, engineers, and consultants — who help customers set up and build with Hume, and who bring direct exposure to how customers' own analysts use the platform — bringing the video production, post-production and storytelling skills needed to turn screen recordings and product walkthroughs into lessons that are clear, well-paced and genuinely easy to learn from.

Your primary focus will be Hume Academy itself — the paths, modules and lessons that make onboarding onto Hume smoother, while also showcasing the platform's capabilities and quality to prospective and existing customers. Beyond production, you will help shape how the Academy looks and feels as it grows: contributing to the visual and instructional standards for future content, and helping build a repeatable pipeline so new lessons can be produced quickly and consistently.

Key responsibilities

  • Video Production & Post-Production: Turn screen recordings and product demos from our engineers, consultants and product team into polished training videos — editing, color and audio cleanup, motion graphics, callouts, captions and on-screen annotations — to a consistently high visual and technical standard.
  • Scriptwriting & Content Adaptation: Take raw material and subject-matter input from our consultants and the Documentation/Product team and turn it into clear scripts, storyboards and voiceover copy that simplify technical concepts without losing accuracy.
  • Instructional Design: Collaborate with the Documentation team to propose and design the structure of learning paths, modules and lessons — sequencing, learning objectives and pacing — applying adult-learning best practices.
  • Quality & Craft: Hold every lesson to a high bar on three fronts — video quality, narrative clarity and learning experience — since Academy content doubles as a showcase of Hume's product quality.
  • Production Pipeline & Delivery: Publish and maintain lessons in our learning platform/LMS, including quizzes, transcripts and supporting assets; keep a content calendar and asset library organized.
  • Collaboration & Iteration: Work closely with consultants on demo recordings and with the Product and Documentation teams to keep content accurate as the platform evolves; gather learner feedback and iterate on existing lessons.

What we offer

  • Unique opportunity: Build a training function from the ground up for technology that genuinely matters — helping government agencies and law enforcement analysts get more value out of Hume, faster.
  • Driven and motivating environment: Striving for excellence is who we are, but we've always got each other's back. Work in an environment that motivates and supports you.
  • Self-realisation and autonomy: Take real ownership of individual lessons and modules within the Academy, thriving in a collaborative environment where autonomy is balanced with accountability.
  • Competitive compensation: Enjoy a competitive compensation package and regular reviews.

What you need to bring

Production foundation

  • Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on experience producing video-based training, e-learning, or educational/marketing video content.
  • Tools: Proficiency with video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Camtasia or Descript, plus screen-recording/demo capture tools (e.g., Camtasia, OBS, ScreenFlow) — editing, motion graphics, callouts and audio cleanup. Raw material is almost entirely screen-recorded product demos, so no live filming or on-location shooting is required.
  • Production mindset: Comfortable driving individual video projects from planning through final delivery, while collaborating closely with the Product and Documentation teams.
  • Quality bar: A portfolio that shows genuinely high-quality video production — strong visual polish, pacing and narrative clarity, not just functional screen-capture walkthroughs.

Instructional design & storytelling

  • Learning path design: Demonstrated ability to propose and help design the structure of a learning path — sequencing modules and lessons, defining learning objectives and progression — in collaboration with the Documentation and Product teams, rather than just formatting content someone else has scoped.
  • Tooling: Familiarity with an LMS or authoring tool (e.g., Articulate, Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, or similar) to publish and maintain that structure.
  • Scriptwriting: Strong scriptwriting and storytelling skills, with the ability to turn dense or technical material into clear, engaging narratives for a professional audience.
  • Technical aptitude: Comfort learning new technical concepts and software quickly — no prior law enforcement or data engineering background required, but genuine curiosity is essential.

Collaboration & knowledge sharing

  • Team integration: Proven ability to work closely with subject-matter experts — our consultants and Product/Documentation colleagues — translating their input into content without losing accuracy.
  • Enablement: Comfortable gathering and acting on learner feedback, iterating on content over time.
  • Language: Excellent written and spoken English — all source content is provided in English, no other language required.

Nice to have

  • Analyst platform experience: Experience creating training, onboarding or demo content for an analyst-facing, data analysis, or other on-premises enterprise software platform.
  • Graphic design: Basic graphic design skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva or similar) for thumbnails, diagrams and slide assets.
  • Interactive e-learning: Experience with interactive e-learning standards (SCORM/xAPI) or building quizzes and assessments.
  • Domain exposure: Familiarity with law enforcement, intelligence, or public-safety domains specifically.
