Position: HR Generalist /Admin (Shared Services)

Location:  Heywood, UK

Department: HR

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday 0800-1600 30 mins lunch

Salary: To be discussed at screening stages before potential interview stages

Lineage Logistics are the world’s largest provider of temperature-controlled logistics.

To support increasing demand, we are currently seeking an additional HR Generalist to join the HR team to help operations and responsibilities of the HR & Payroll team.

We would like the successful applicant to be Heywood based. 

The HR team are supportive and will provide training with someone from a HR Background. When in the office you will share space with our HR team.

Our team would love to meet with applicants who hold a HR background and would likely conduct a two-stage interview process before outcome.

Purpose of the department:

To provide a comprehensive support service to the HR function within the UK.

To be an integral member of the HR team, supporting the full employment life cycle.

Purpose of the Position

The role will involve supporting the HR field team and Managers that focus on high outputs.

Responsibilities

  • Completing all new starter requirements, carrying out right to work checks and administer HR related documentation as applicable, such as offer letters, contracts of employment.

  • Carrying out administrative support for all Employee Relations tasks including supporting the disciplinary process by creating letters and ensuring all the relevant documentation is compiled    

  • Arranging appeal meetings, liaising with Managers/HR Business Partners regarding all Employee Relations matters.   

  • Supporting with the administration for flexible working requests, maternity and paternity

  • Ensure set up, organisation and maintenance of relevant HR database and electronic employee files, to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation and policy.

  • Running HR reports for example absence and long-term sick. 

  • Filing and scanning of paper documentation into electronic files.

  • Support and maintain standard list of template letters.

  • Supporting with the production of HR metrics each month when needed.

  • To be a point of contact for HR enquires that come through the internal ticket system and monitor internal inboxes for general enquiries.

  • Respond to employment reference requests for current and previous employees.

  • Position will also involve learning payroll as well as part of their role.    

Qualifications and key skills required

  • Proven work experience as an HR Administrator, HR Assistant or relevant role within an HR environment.

  • Experience with HR software would be advantageous but not essential as systems and process can be taught.

  • Strong phone, email and in-person communication skills.

  • Intermediate level Microsoft Office Word / Excel / PowerPoint.

  • Attention to detail, conscientious, tenacious and always ensure confidentiality.

  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and organise workload.
