Job Description:

The London-based Human Capital Business Partner (HCBP) plays a key role in developing and delivering the HC plan across the UK. You will work closely with the senior leadership teams, and you will partner with the wider Group HC team.

The HCBP will operate with high levels of autonomy and will have exposure to many different aspects of the business, having the opportunity to work on national and international HC projects.

Main Responsibilities

The HCBP VP will work as part of the Group HC team, developing and delivering the HC plans whilst ensuring, the effective delivery of an excellent, employee-focussed HC service to the business. The role includes:

Generalist HC

As a Generalist, you will act as a direct liaison with professionals to respond to internal inquiries in an efficient and timely manner regarding company policies and practices, benefits and work questions, and training needs/opportunities.

You will have the ability to understand the business and develop effective working relationships, allowing you to ‘monitor the pulse’ of employees and from there drive continuous improvement in engagement.

You will consult and support key stakeholders in important decisions regarding people-related topics, such as organizational design, culture development, compensation and performance practices, and leadership development.

Learning & Development

Identify learning needs for the team and work together with the Group HC team to design and deliver the best learning experiences.

Employee Relations & Engagement

You will partner with the Group HC team to manage employee relations cases if applicable with both internal and external support, ensuring that fair, consistent and transparent processes are applied.

You will lead and partner projects to develop and implement employment policies and procedures in partnership with the Group HC team, integrating legislative changes into HC policy and practices

Performance Management, Talent Management

You will facilitate the performance management process with managers and professionals. You will work closely with managers and partner with the Group HC team you will support the team in the fulfilment of their personal goals and those of their teams. You will identify the learning initiatives required at the team level and participate in Global L&D projects and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Have Human Capital experience (9 years or more), ideally within financial services or a multinational company, fast-paced and results-oriented environment with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Have demonstrable knowledge and experience of UK employment law and practices.
  • The ability to understand business goals and experience in interacting at all levels of an organization.
  • Have a proven hands-on attitude and be flexible and adaptable.
  • Ability to take ownership and work autonomously, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to deal with confidential matters with the necessary sensitivity and awareness.
  • Possess problem-solving and analytical capability; experience in managing ambiguity and analysing HC metrics to find root causes and develop short-, medium-, and long-term plans.
  • Have intellectual curiosity; bring valuable insight into the team/business.
  • Be comfortable working in an environment that demands strong deliverables with short deadlines.
  • Being an enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment.
  • Predominantly office based.

Basic Qualifications

  • Relevant professional qualifications desirable but not required (e.g. CIPD)
  • 9 or more years’ experience in financial services.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Fluent/native English required; additional languages are a plus
