What's exciting about the role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic HR Manager to oversee all aspects of human resources for Verifone’s UK and Ireland operations. This role will be responsible for driving HR strategies, managing employee relations, ensuring compliance with local labor laws, and supporting leadership in building a high-performing organization. The HR Manager will act as a strategic business partner, collaborating with key stakeholders to enhance employee engagement and business success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HR initiatives aligned with Verifone’s global and regional strategies to attract, retain and develop the workforce, in line with the overall business direction. Drive employee morale and development actions.
- Build strong relationships with key leaders and people managers, fostering trust and promoting collaboration. Counsel, coach and train local managers and employees. Be visible to all employees through regular visits to different sites as appropriate.
- Ensure adherence to employment laws and regulations, implementing HR best practices to mitigate risks. Ensure the local business has practical, regularly updated and well communicated HR policies and procedures to maintain local compliance and support the business goals of the various business units present locally.
- Provide insights and practical advice based on an intimate knowledge of local employment law and its practical application supporting a rapidly changing business.
- Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to understand local talent availability. Coordinate with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers to help close on best in class talent. Assist as needed in HR administration regarding local hiring laws and processes. Establish and conduct orientation and training programs for new joiners.
- Partner with the Total Rewards team to maintain and review benefits programs, including compensation. Provide country specific knowledge relating to total rewards.
- Drive a culture of feedback and performance excellence through goal-setting, appraisals, and employee development programs. Identify training needs and support leadership in career development initiatives.
- Work proactively within the company’s matrix structure to identify, escalate and where possible resolve human capital issues in a proactive, smooth and effective way. Support business transformation efforts by effectively communicating organizational changes and driving engagement.
Skills and Experience we desire
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (CIPD qualification preferred).
- Minimum 8+ years of HR management experience within a multinational organization, preferably in the technology or payments industry.
- Strong knowledge of UK and Ireland employment laws and HR best practices.
- Fluent English language (Proficiency in additional languages is advantageous)
- In depth knowledge of HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development etc.)
- Proficiency in MS Office and HRMS (Workday experience is a plus) and data-driven decision-making.
- Proven ability to build relationships with senior leaders and employees across multiple functions.
- Hands-on approach with the ability to balance strategic thinking and operational execution.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to operate effectively in a rapidly changing environment.
- Proactive, self-starter, problem-solving and conflict-resolution aptitude.
- Strong ethics and reliability is necessary to quickly gain credibility across all levels of the organization.
