The HR Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Human Resources practices and processes. This position supports business needs and ensures the proper implementation of company strategy and objectives. The HR Manager works to achieve company goals to promote core values and enable business success through human resources management, including job design, recruitment, performance management, training and development, employment cycle changes, talent management and facilities management services.
Key Responsibilities- To manage the takeover of HR administration following acquisition;
- Primarily responsible for operations in the Netherlands, with occasional support for employees across Europe;
- Develop and administer various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel;
- Plan, organize and control all activities of the department, and participate in developing department goals, objectives and systems;
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues;
- Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital;
- Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures;
- Nurture a positive working environment;
- Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance;
- Set up pay plan and benefits program;
- Assess training needs to implement and monitor training programs;
- Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics;
- Ensure legal compliance;
- Implement and annually update the compensation program, e.g. rewrite job descriptions as necessary, conduct annual salary surveys and develop salary budget, analyze compensation, monitor performance evaluation program and revise as necessary;
- Develop, recommend and implement personnel policies and procedures, e.g. prepare and maintain policies and procedures handbook, and perform benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness, information activities program and cash flow;
- Conduct recruitment efforts for all exempt, nonexempt and temporary workers, including writing and placing advertisements, working with supervisors to screen and interview candidates, conduct reference checks, extend job offers, conduct new employee orientations, monitor career path program and employee relations counseling;
- Conduct exit interviews;
- Establish and maintain department records and reports;
- Maintain organizational charts and employee directory;
- Evaluate reports, decisions and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals and recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant HR experience, ideally in a multinational or fast-paced environment, with a strong understanding of HR operations and compliance.
- Availability to work part-time (80% FTE)
- Proven experience in managing HR administration
- Strong knowledge of Dutch labor laws and HR practices
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures, including compensation, benefits, performance management, and employee relations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to bridge management and employee relations, resolve grievances, and foster a positive work environment.
- Analytical mindset with experience in using HR metrics and data to support decision-making, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement in HR processes.
