HR & Enablement Lead, People Function (EMEA & APAC)


Role Overview

Reporting to the Head of People, the HR & Enablement Lead (aka HR Business Partner) will serve as a strategic partner to our teams in EMEA and APAC and collaborate with the rest of the people team on global initiatives. 

This role goes beyond traditional HR functions, serving as a true business partner who understands regional complexities while delivering consistent people-first solutions that fosters an environment where brilliant minds can do their best work. The ideal candidate will be a versatile professional who can navigate cultural nuances, compliance requirements, and strategic people initiatives to drive organizational success in a fast paced environment. 

Key Responsibilities:

HR Business Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to People Managers across EMEA and APAC regions, providing guidance on people-related matters
  • Translate company vision into people-centric programs that enhance our competitive advantage in the AI talent market
  • Provide data-driven insights on workforce trends, helping People Managers make informed decisions about team structure, growth, and development
  • Support organizational design that optimizes for innovation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing across technical and non-technical teams

Talent Enablement & Employee Relations

  • Design and implement enablement programs that accelerate the performance of our teams
  • Create learning pathways that help employees navigate the rapidly evolving AI landscape
  • Establish mentorship and knowledge-sharing frameworks that leverage our collective expertise
  • Support career development for highly specialized roles with unique progression paths
  • Manage performance review processes for your regions and provide guidance on performance improvement plans

HR Operations & Employee Experience

  • Oversee full-cycle people operations across EMEA and APAC, ensuring excellence in onboarding, performance management, and retention
  • Create scalable people processes that maintain our agility while supporting growth
  • Develop and nurture a distinctive company culture that balances technical excellence with human connection in a remote first workplace
  • Facilitate career development conversations and succession planning
  • Address and resolve complex employee relations issues with sensitivity to cultural contexts
  • Promote a positive workplace culture that embraces diversity and inclusion

Regional Compliance & Policy Management

  • Ensure HR practices comply with local employment laws across multiple jurisdictions
  • Stay current on employment legislation changes in EMEA and APAC regions
  • Advise managers on risk mitigation strategies for people-related decisions

Compensation & Benefits

  • Support compensation review processes across regions
  • Provide input on competitive and equitable compensation structures
  • Explain complex benefits information to employees in clear, accessible terms

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally with at least 2 years supporting international regions
  • In-depth understanding of employment laws in key EMEA and APAC markets
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices across multiple HR functions
  • Excellent conflict resolution, communication and negotiation skills
  • Experience with HR analytics and data-driven decision making
  • Familiarity with the unique challenges of AI companies (ethics, rapid technological change, specialized talent)
  • Exceptional cultural intelligence and ability to navigate diverse work environments
  • Strategic mindset balanced with operational excellence
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and HR technology platforms
  • Experience in technology, research, or AI-focused environments highly valued
  • CIPD, SHRM certification or equivalent HR credentials a plus
