This position will be based in our London office with a hybrid schedule that has the option of working two days remotely each week.

Team Overview:

Working closely with the Head of People for Europe and International Business lines you will facilitate the delivery of our strategic objectives, partnering with our international colleagues and leaders based in the UK, providing comprehensive people support. You will lead projects and strategic initiatives focused on culture, change management, performance, talent management, and organizational design and development.

Through effective stakeholder management, an understanding of our business objectives and what drives them and as a champion for our culture you will be able to align team objectives with our people practices, influence organisational design and development, support and manage change whilst ensuring managers and colleagues are equipped to foster a high-performance culture.

As part of the international and global People and Talent team, you will collaborate to ensure our offerings are consistent. You will work closely with Talent Acquisition (TA), Talent Development (TD), other Centres of Excellence (COEs), and our People Services Team in Madrid to support international growth.

Key Accountabilities:

People & Talent practices

  • Partner and consult with the business to align people and talent initiatives with business objectives and goals, embedding our values into everything we do.

  • Collaborate with international colleagues and UK based leaders to offer comprehensive people support. Understand business objectives and align team goals with people practices.

  • Influence organizational design and development, support change management, and foster a high-performance culture.

  • Lead projects and initiatives focused on culture, change management, performance, talent management, and organizational design.

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, COEs and People Services in Madrid to support international growth and ensure consistency in how we support the business.

  • Lead on managing performance issues, collaborating with managers to ensure we adhere to best practice, coaching them to manage performance consistently, supporting employees throughout the process and collaborating with managers to ensure they have the skills and tools to do perform at their best.

  • Support managers to prepare for and administrate annual processes, such as compensation planning, ensuring alignment between performance and compensation awards, managing the review and moderation process alongside the global compensation team.

  • Keep abreast of best practice, employment legislation, considering its impact on Everest and suggest appropriate action. Keep managers informed of changes that may directly affect them or their teams, from an international and local perspective.

Workforce planning

  • Ensure our organizational design meets the needs of our business objectives and supports a growing and ever-changing business, providing ongoing support to managers on Organizational Development

  • Working with the Head of People and your client group, determine staffing needs, define, and prioritize role and resourcing requirements.

  • Support the TA team in agreeing job descriptions and role profiles, interviewing candidates where necessary and working with the hiring manager to agree appropriate compensation, proactively managing recruitment expectations.

  • Have a full understanding of our Global Mobility programs and assist the HR Officer with the coordination and planning of international transfers and secondments.

People & Talent champion

  • Provide coaching and training where appropriate, including training for managers to ensure they have skills and knowledge to support and lead their teams.

  • Provide advice and coaching to employees and managers on policies and processes, contract terms and our employee handbook. 

  • Support initiatives, people processes and policies that help us meet create an inclusive environment.

  • Work with the TD team to consistently meet learning & development needs, ensuring we have a core training offering that meets skills needs and that all employees have development plans.

  • Working with the rest of the HR team ensure the new joiner and onboarding process for your teams is consistent and introduces people to our culture and ensures new hires have the necessary tools and resources to start their career with us.

  • Design and drive engagement initiatives.

Talent Development

  • Plan talent needs strategy, determining staffing needs, define and prioritize role and resourcing requirements.

  • Lead on employee onboarding within your client groups and where appropriate across International, collaborating with Managers to ensure thorough and appropriate team and department inductions that are consistent and reflect our values.

Professional Experience:

  • Proven experience in partnering with the business and translating business priorities and objectives into tangible people practices and processes.

  • Experience in managing employee relations issues and a proven track record of supporting and coaching managers to achieve high performance.

  • Experience of workforce planning and end-to-end recruitment process.

  • An extensive knowledge of employment and engagement best practice and a demonstratable interest company culture and values. 

  • Extensive knowledge of employment legislation and best practice, with experience of networking with external HR professionals.

  • Experience in talent management, succession planning and talent development including leadership positions.

  • A background in financial services sector

Desirable Experience

  • A background in the Insurance sector.

  • Knowledge of the CBI regulatory regime.

Skills, Abilities & Attributes

  • Fantastic people skills and a confident communicator.

  • An ability to manage stakeholders with competing demands.

  • A willingness to learn and solve problems and work proactively, focused on solutions.

Qualifications

  • CIPD qualified to level 5 would be an advantage but is not essential to the role.
