About the team:

Our Trading team plays a crucial role in driving the success of the business by leveraging data insights and working with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal trading performance. We operate at pace, turning complex metrics into clear strategies that empower our stakeholders and ensure we remain the smart way to get away in an ever-changing market.

The impact you’ll have:

As Head of Trading, you’ll play a crucial role in driving the overall success of the business by combining deep market and performance insights to identify the key actions to maximise our performance in the current market conditions. Positioned centrally within the broader Revenue Management & Trading function, this team acts as the commercial heartbeat of the organisation, working to ensure we are always balancing marketplace dynamics to maximize both revenue and profitability.

You'll lead a team of market-specific Trading Managers to drive commercial performance across the Group. Sitting within the Revenue Management and Trading function and reporting to the VP, you'll own the Trading calendar and reporting - ensuring insights translate into action.

Your day-to-day:

  • Analysing short and medium term performance trends and optimising the relationship between Marketing Spend, Conversion Rate, Margin Per Transaction, Trading Margin and ultimately Gross Profit

  • Working closely with the Supply, Marketing, Product and Finance teams to identify, validate, and support broader commercial growth opportunities.

  • Building short term projection methodologies that help connect short term performance with our longer term goals

  • Monitoring short term commercial signals to ensure all areas are functioning effectively

  • Ensuring timely and accurate updates of performance to senior management

  • Line management of the Trading Managers and supporting their development

  • Chairing Trading meetings and driving trading actions to optimise performance

Your skillset:

  • Highly numerate with excellent commercial and financial acumen and a deep understanding of P&L mechanics and unit economics

  • Highly proficient in extracting, analysing and presenting data to support recommendations

  • Clear, transparent and opinionated communication and presentation skills

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and drive results within the team and constructively collaborate with key commercial and senior stakeholders

  • Good working knowledge of Google tools (Google sheets, Looker, Big Query SQL)

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver to targets

  • Enjoy working in a fast paced and growing organisation

Desirable:

  • Basic statistics and forecasting methodologies

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted workflows and an appetite for leveraging emerging tools to improve analytical productivity

  • Experience of working within a competitive digital industry (eg: Travel or online FMCG)

The interview journey:

  • TA screening - 30 mins

  • 1st stage with Hiring Manager - 45 mins

  • 2nd stage with key stakeholders including a task to present, in office - 1.5 hours

  • Final stage with a subset of the Executive team (Chief Data Officer, Chief Marketing Officer) - 30 mins
