As part of the Internal Audit Leadership Team the Head of Technology Audit will be responsible for identifying and delivering on a strategy for Group Internal Audit (GIA) to be a success and industry leading.  

Including:

  • Building and developing the GIA team.
  • Building strong relationships with Regulators, Technology Management, and the Board based on their confidence in GIA.
  • Aligning GIA to the business’ priorities and making a significant positive impact on improving the control environment and culture.
  • Innovating through optimising the use of, for example, data analytics techniques.
  • Reacting quickly to business strategy, operational, ESG, cultural and regulatory change. 

Responsibilities will be:

  • Leading the technology audit team and setting GIA’s technology, cyber, data governance, change audit and data analytics strategy.
  • Hiring, developing and coaching team members.
  • Ensuring that the annual risk assessment and plan covers all key technology, data governance, and cyber risks, and developing continuous monitoring.
  • Resourcing, skilling and successful delivery of all technology audits.
  • Collaborating with business auditors on integrated audits. 
Requirements
  • Proven technology auditor with a successful track record of delivering impactful technology audits (including infrastructure, DR, asset management, change management, applications, data governance, and cyber security).
  • Strong up to date technical knowledge gained from a consultancy firm, bank or a fintech.  
  • Understanding of UK regulations and experience of working with the FCA and PRA.
  • Experience of working in a fast paced, nimble yet highly regulated environment.
  • Confident communicator at all levels.
  • The ability to challenge in a positive manner and to articulate balanced opinions.
  • Thorough understanding of the International Professional Practice Framework and the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors’ Code for Financial Services.
  • CISA and ideally CISSP qualified.
