Job Title - Strategy and Transformation Manager

GB has a strategy rooted in people, purpose, and performance with an ambition to become a  £1.4bn NSV business generating £0.5bn CAAP which will involve growing market share to 20% of TBA. A bold ambition which will require significant shifts in strategy and execution. The ambition targets 40% (£200m) from fuelling the core 4 spirits and Guinness and 60% (£300m) from creating new source of growth through moderation, cocktails, premiumisation and opportunities yet to be identified. 

 

Creating new and incremental revenue will require significant shifts in how Diageo goes to market and shapes new consumer behaviour. It will require new capabilities to be develop and a fully integrated business strategy.

To enable this, Diageo GB has identified 6 enablers or accelerators; Data and technology, Society 2030 roadmap, progressive liberation, investing smartly to drive greater return on investment, building an advantage route to market and creating a vibrant and engaged employee base.

 

To enable this transformation Diageo GB has created a new strategy and transformation function to shape the future and ensure strategic shifts are created and embed into the business plan and organisation capabilities

Role Overview

In this role, you will report into the Strategy & Transformation Director and will be responsible for leading Exec-selected business projects to drive business transformation that fuels growth against GB’s strategic breakthrough areas.

This role is an ideal next step for someone with a strong commercial background looking to enhance their leadership skills and 'Shape the Future' capability. It is also well-suited for individuals with a background in strategy, project, or organisational change who have a passion for commercial transformation

Top Accountabilities

  • Formulate cases for the biggest areas to win by defining a strategic vision and translating it into tangible execution plans with clear landmarks, outcomes, deadlines, and prioritisation.
  • Own the E2E project plan by setting objectives, defining success criteria (project scope, budget, achievements), and key results.
  • Mobilize cross-functional teams (in-house or agency) using a wide network of collaborators while driving dedication through effective delegation and empowerment.
  • Own communication and organisational change agendas by defining end-to-end capabilities required to embed change proposals while upskilling your wider network for seamless delivery.
  • Define success criteria for projects, measure effectiveness of project delivery, foster a continuous improvement attitude within an agile team environment focused on testing, learning, and tweaking.

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • 10 years + experience in FMCG business ideally across different demand creation functions
  • Previous experience of business transformation and unlocking complex problems to drive maximum benefit
  • Strong evidence of being a catalyst for change – using data and insight to shape your thinking unlock value
  • Outstanding project management in delivering complex transformation agendas from ideation to execution
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with experience influencing stakeholders across multiple functional areas
  • Ability to negotiate, influence and handle conflicting priorities
  • Experience of working within a cross-functional team and driving agreement and commitment across your network
  • Experience in complex problem solving
