Role Description

The Head of Solution Consulting is responsible for the regional Solution Consulting team. This includes the recruitment, performance, well-being, quality of work and soft skills of all relevant staff and ensuring there is a high level of collaboration within the team.

The person performing this role is required to set the example for the consultants in their team and where capacity allows undertake the core responsibilities of a senior solution consultant alongside their leadership and management responsibilities.

This role requires several years’ experience in managing and leading teams as well as working within the financial services industry. This role is fundamental to drive our high-performance culture and ensures additionally close relationships with different functions within the company and other stakeholders.

FNZ Solution Consulting is a dedicated & focused division within FNZ’s Delivery team, which provides Platform Consulting services to new and existing customers.

Team Responsibilities

The Solution Consulting team provides a range of high value services to FNZ’s existing and potential customers

This includes being responsible for the Platform configuration and running the FNZ Model Wealth Solution configuration process for new platform implementations, plus supporting sales team in winning & sizing new projects.

The Solution Consulting team defines the Strategic roadmap & proposition and the Target Operating Model TOM , whilst maximising the re-use of existing platform functionality. The Solution Consultants strongly support the business transformation, conduct customer training and knowledge transfer sessions, and define bespoke requirements where required for customer platform solutions.

Once business outcomes are understood from FNZ clients, these must be accurately documented and fed them into the delivery process to ensure they are easily understood and precise to deliver the right outcome for our clients. The team also works closely with FNZ’s Business Readiness Team, Operations and Production Support teams to ensure that FNZ provides its services compliantly, reliably and to scalable once implemented in Production.

Specific Role Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Ensure each individual in the team is motivated and engaged in their role.

  • Lead the solution consulting team to ensure they deliver for FNZ clients on-time and to a high level of quality.

  • Owner of core platform solutions, proposed to meet regulatory change requirements, across all FNZ clients within the region.

Management

  • Facilitate and guide the solution planning for regional projects

  • Coordinate delivery within the team for FNZ client projects, ensuring SMEs are available to client projects as required and there is end-to-end solution ownership.

  • Input into resource planning across all FNZ client delivery projects within the region, resolving resource escalations when required.

  • Maintain a skills matrix for team quantifying each consultants functional/product expertise

  • Set & track performance management plans

  • Undertake performance reviews on a regular basis for all consultants in the team

Quality Control

  • Accountable for the end-to-end solution design for all regional platform projects ensuring each solution considers reusability and best practice.

  • Input into SDLC processes including but not limited to engagement with developers, architecture, testing and documentation standards

  • Actively promote knowledge sharing within the team and help to facilitate an internal training regime.

  • Management of risk events, audits and audit findings across the solution consulting team to ensure they are addressed in a timely manner.


Communication

  • Ensure close collaboration between consultants and developers/testers

  • Act as the primary escalation point for regional consulting issues, either from the team or external people

Solution Consultancy

  • Depending on size of the regional team managed and where capacity allows, undertake the core responsibilities of the Senior Solution Consultant role and demonstrate a high level of competence.

  • Supporting sales team in winning new clients and projects by defining proposition and high-level estimation of delivery effort.

  • Be an SME in FNZ Platform functionality and apply this understanding to help customers define propositions that best utilise or enhance FNZ core platform capabilities.

  • Using your knowledge of existing functionality and influence to guide customer to existing solutions.

  • Have a full understanding of a Platform Target Operating Model, including the interfaces between platform and customers operations and FNZ Investment operations. Provide advice to customers regarding best practice operating model design.

  • Support, share knowledge and provide understanding where needed to FNZ Solution Centres, operations and production support to enable them to complete their responsibilities in an efficient way.

  • Owner of core platform solutions, proposed to meet regulatory change requirements, across all FNZ clients and their regulatory roadmap within the region.

Experience required

Industry Knowledge

  • Leadership experience in a consulting, analysis or architecture environment. Has demonstrated continuing strong leadership over a period of time.

  • Extensive experience working in the Financial Services Industry.

  • FNZ Platform expert, including FNZ products & architecture.

  • A sound understanding of the regional regulatory environment

  • 10+ years of experience in a delivery/consulting environment in the financial services/wealth market.

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Degree level education

  • Proven track record as a leader

  • Experience working within a business analysis / consulting role.

  • Be able to evidence establishing an environment of continuous improvement and capability development.

  • Confident, and able to take initiative given client– and delivery-focused environment.

  • Independent, self-directing and delivery focused working style.

  • Superior problem solving skills

  • Commercially aware.
