Role Purpose

The Head of Settlements will be responsible for overseeing our merchant settlements across the globe. You will be responsible for ensuring our merchants are settled in a timely manner and collaborating with stakeholders both internally and externally to resolve any issues that may arise.

You will collaborate with product and engineering to build out and automate our settlements systems to ensure we are built for scale.

You will define and develop KPIs to report to management to ensure visibility and a strong control environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and improve processes for the group in respect of merchant settlement.
  • Work with key senior stakeholders in product, technology and finance to build a best-in-class automated settlement capability – define future states and requirements for the business
  • Own the merchant settlement process – work closely with Operations to deliver a long term plan for scaling the business
  • Define a data strategy for Settlement and Payops - Develop key data metrics and insights to track and optimize against
  • Understand merchant requirements – work with commercial and finance teams to provide data and advise on best execution of merchant volumes
  • Manage and develop a global payops function - build a high performing team across multiple timezones
  • Establish and report regularly KPI’s in respect of reconciliation processes
  • Participate in the implementation of the Treasury Management system.
  • Involvement in various projects and other Treasury tasks as required.


Key Skills and Competencies 

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Working knowledge of Treasury and Banking technology solutions including TMS (Kyriba), banking portals is a plus.
  • Significant experience with scalable payments platforms
  • Accountancy qualifications a plus

Communication Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Organisational Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time management and organisational abilities.

Problem-Solving Skills

  • Ability to identify issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate insights.
  • Proactive approach to addressing challenges and implementing improvements.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or Business.
