About the role:

The Screenwise Panel is an audience measurement panel that we have been running for Google for 14 years.  

Key purpose of the Head of Research and Quality is to oversee the running of the panel to ensure that we deliver the service required to the client in terms of a well-balanced and reporting panel with daily delivery of TV data. 

In the role of the Screenwise Head of Research and Quality, you will work closely with our operations teams in both Media and KWP to ensure that both teams are focussing on the elements of panel activity that are most likely to meet the client’s needs. You will set priorities for the teams in terms of the targeting and review the impact of this activity. You will ensure that ongoing recruitment is conducted to top-up the panel and maintain panel balance. You will oversee ongoing panel reviews to ensure that the data held for our panel remains up-to-date and relevant. 

This is a client-facing role, and the Head of Research and Quality will be one of the main client contact points with regular contact with product owners and client managers at Google, 

 This role will have two direct line reports who are responsible for the day-to-day running of the panel - 

  • Research and Data Manager 
  • Panel Experience and Quality Manager 

Job Role Requirements

  • Reviewing and assessing panel performance against service requirements - working with the Panel Experience and Quality Manager to ensure that we maintain the panel and meet the client SLAs. 
  • Reviewing and assessing ongoing panel recruitment needs - working with the Research and Data Manager to ensure that we maintain the panel and meet the client SLAs.
  • Reviewing the TV data produced to understand whether it reflects the UK TV market. 
  • Trialling new research approaches to recruit hard-to-reach audiences 
  • Working with operations, service, and central teams in following up and resolving identified issues 
  • Overseeing ad hoc projects, such as a panel information refresh, to meet the clients’ needs 
  • Manage and motivate a team of two.
  • Work closely with the Head of Research and Quality on Origin (another audience measurement project run by Kantar Media) to optimise resources and ensure best practice across the whole team. 
  • Financial project management – ensure timely and accurate client invoicing and review the ongoing project budget. 

Role Requirements

  • Strong client management skills 
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently across teams.
  • A passion for media and audience measurement 
  • Good understanding of research approaches to be used for panel recruitment and of the principles of weighting 
  • Good understanding of the UK media market, with use of TV analysis systems an advantage, although training will be provided.
