The role

What will you be doing?

Position: Head of Proposition Development (12-24 month Fixed Term contract)
Location: Dorking or Basingstoke (with hybrid working, Basingstoke locations will be expected to attend the Dorking office once a week)
Reporting To: Chief Marketing Officer

What will you bring?

This is a unique Head of Proposition Development role like no other. In this role you’ll get exposure and breadth where you will collaborate and establish relationships across the business, helping our strategy come to life as you influence proposition decisions and support in our continued growth.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of Unum’s propositions, ensuring that Unum UK achieves its growth aspirations, maintains a leading position in our selected markets, and anticipates the needs of our customers.

Your strategic mindset, exceptional communication skills, and ability to build strong relationships will be key. As a natural collaborator, you will apply creativity and innovative solutions that listen to our customer and business insights to develop propositions that resonate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver proposition programmes and products that meet our strategic objectives, balancing the needs of our distribution channels and taking the proposition to the market
• Bring clarity to Unum’s offering so it resonates with the needs of our target segments (intermediaries and customers) by analysing and incorporating feedback.
• Lead a high performing team of proposition experts and products owners.

Requirements:

• Extensive Proposition management and/or marketing experience at senior management/leadership level of financial services or Insurance sector.
• Strong leadership skills, including the ability to effectively partner, problem solve, and influence others.
• Strategic planning and growth mind-set, with strong analytical and market research skills
