We’re seeking someone skilled in aligning design strategies with product goals and leading a talented team of designers and UX professionals. In this role, you’ll guide and grow our design function while fostering a culture that thrives on innovation and high performance. WHAT YOU’LL DO 🚀
Design strategy
- Develop and implement long-term innovative design strategies and UX vision that align with the company’s product goals and business objectives.
- Oversee the creative direction of the Product, ensuring that design initiatives support the product’s goals and ultimately drive customer success.
- Lead UX research efforts to identify user needs and spark innovation.
- Drive exploratory design work that influences future decisions, even without immediate deliverables.
- Establish strong partnerships with Head of Product, Head of Engineering, Product Leaders, and other key stakeholders to ensure design efforts stay aligned with product goals.
Design operations
- Ensure that design work is delivered efficiently within sprint timelines and matches the product team’s deadlines.
- Own the operational aspects of design, from process management to quality assurance across multiple teams.
- Focus on short-to-mid-term objectives and how the design function can contribute to them.
Team management
- Ensure that each designer is effectively integrated in each respective product team to facilitate effective project execution and enhance cross-functional collaboration.
- Support professional development, leveraging each team member’s unique skills and strengths.
- Help the design function navigate challenging processes, changes, and transitions with resilience and confidence.
- Scale the design function by hiring new design managers and individual contributors while maintaining high-quality standards.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
- 3+ years of design leadership experience (including managing team leaders) in leading digital product companies with a total of 10+ years of experience in digital product design.
- Proven ability to align design initiatives with product goals.
- Strong leadership skills, with experience in scaling and building teams.
- High levels of emotional intelligence and empathy.
- Adaptability and openness to change, with a track record of successfully navigating complex and evolving business landscapes.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain design concepts and strategies to non-design stakeholders.
