Blumont Annuity Company UK (BAC UK) is a life insurance company with a primary focus on the pension risk transfer market in which buy-out and buy-in bulk purchase policies are sold to defined benefit pension plans in the UK. The company was authorized by the PRA on 10 March 2025 and is regulated by the FCA and PRA under FRN 1014484.

BAC UK is wholly owned by Brookfield Wealth Solutions. (“BWS”). BWS is a leading insurance and reinsurance business focused on providing capital-based solutions to insurance companies and their stakeholders. Through its operating subsidiaries, American National, American Equity, North End Re and Brookfield Annuity, WS provides annuity-based reinsurance products to insurance and reinsurance companies and acts as a direct issuer of pension risk transfer products for pension plan sponsors.

Job Description
BAC UK is hiring a Head of Pricing to lead the company’s New Business function. This role will report to the CEO.
Responsibilities
Start-up
- Develop pricing tools, policies and processes to support the launch of the BAC UK business
- Work with the Head of Origination to ensure that BAC UK has a competitive pricing basis and new business proposition that provides sufficient differentiation from the competition
- Work with the CTO to ensure BAC UK has current market and competitive data at all times to facilitate agile decision making
- Support the Head of Origination with the preparation of marketing and proposal materials to support BAC UK’s market entry
Business as usual
- Manage the pricing pipeline to ensure all bids are delivered on time
- Work with the CTO to develop the pricing platform to achieve efficiency gains
- Ensure high standards of quality and accuracy across all bids
- Deliver all material bids to second line for review in advance of the submission of the bid
- Support annual third line reviews of the pricing methodology and approach
- Report to the Board on market competitiveness of the business
- Support the development of bespoke solutions for schemes where this is required to facilitate a transaction, leveraging the skills within BNRE
- Project sponsor for initiatives to develop BAC UK’s Pricing capabilities, and drive these projects forward to execution
- Contribute to the overall management of the business as a member of the Senior Management Team
Required Skills and Experience
- Qualified Actuary
- 10+ years of direct financial services-related experience required
- Extensive experience working with EBCs in the UK
- Experience of PRA and FCA regulations
- Insurance sector experience and knowledge of bulk annuities
- Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize deliverables, and work well under pressure and deadlines
- Possesses high professional standards and exemplifies exceptional integrity and credibility with strong relationship management skills
- Ability to manage and balance competing interests of multiple stakeholders and positively manage conflict
- Works well in a team-based environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
