Partnerships represent a significant growth opportunity for NewDay, with renewed impetus under its new ownership; reporting directly to the Chief Partnerships Officer, you’ll be critical to decision making on which partnership opportunities to pursue, and how. Collaborating with the wider exec teams, business development and our owners to evaluate opportunities and drive the investment decisions, priorities and growth of the partnerships business, you’ll also provide strategic direction and focus for our business development activities, influencing internal stakeholders to unlock value through prospective partnerships and identify opportunities others may not see.
The role blends commercial strategy and deal pricing with a strong understanding of financial modelling and lending economics — without requiring hands‑on modelling day‑to‑day, and is responsible for ‘pricing’ our deals with the partners (for example, price to service customers, price to subsidise promotional lending, or profit share arrangements) to balance the need to be competitive in the market whilst also delivering value for our shareholders.

Continually ensure close alignment between the sales teams' target clients and the business growth strategy agreed with NewDay's Board and owners.

Progress new opportunities through stages of the deal lifecycle, from qualification to refinement to approval
Setting commercial terms for partners utilising the direct team to develop the modelling toolkit
We're looking for these essential skills
Deep understanding of lending portfolios (credit cards, embedded finance, loans) and how lenders drive value from them
Ability to quickly and instinctively interpret financial modelling outputs and draw insights and actions from them
Ability to confidently communicate complex subject matter – in both written and verbal form - to senior audiences with varying levels of experience in the subject matter
Line management experience, ideally leading and coaching analytical teams
It's a plus if you have these skills
Direct client-facing business development experience
Modelling experience in commercial / pricing role
Corporate development experience Coding (SAS/SQL) & Advanced Excel Modelling
