Pubity Group builds video across a wide range of formats, from fast-turn short-form and returning shows to longer, more considered work like documentary and docuseries.

This role owns the process of turning a working format into something bigger. This could be a returning show, a franchise with its own audience, or occasionally something that goes beyond the group's own channels.

It's a global remit with a team. We want someone who can shape what the group makes and how it performs, while building the people and capability to match that ambition.

What you'll do

Slate strategy & format range

  • Own the group's original video output, from short-form and shows through to documentary and docuseries, and decide what has the potential to scale.

  • Apply and refine the pilot, scale and pause framework as formats move from proving themselves on social to becoming returning shows or franchises.

  • Match the format to the idea, drawing on knowledge of documentary, docuseries, competition, talk, narrative and podcast formats alongside short-form.

Team leadership

  • Build, manage and develop the team as the slate and franchise ambitions grow, including line management of the Short-Form and Shows Development Leads.

  • Make the case for team structure and hiring as the slate scales, bringing in specialist producers or development leads where needed.

Franchise & IP development

  • Take formats that are working and give them a life beyond the original run. This could include a spin-off, international version, tie-in or licensing deal. Make the IP case for each.

  • Work with Brand Strategy and Productisation to package franchise IP for presentation, including occasional opportunities beyond the group's own channels.

Scaling & cross-functional delivery

  • Work through the Post-Production Hub alongside your team to plan and prioritise output as formats move from pilot to scale.

  • Partner with Production, Brand Strategy, Data & Measurement and Commercial so decisions are grounded in production reality, brand fit, audience data and commercial upside.

  • Represent original video strategy at SLT level, including making the case for investment ahead of proven commercial return.

About you

  • A leadership track record that has visibly changed what a slate, channel or content business makes and how it performs.

  • Direct experience building and managing a team, including hiring, developing and holding producers or development leads accountable.

  • A track record of scaling video content across more than one platform type, including building formats into franchises through spin-offs, international versions or licensing.

  • Fluency across formats including documentary, docuseries, long-form YouTube, short-form social and podcasts. You will understand what each format needs in development, casting and production.

  • Confidence using performance data to make scaling decisions and making the creative and commercial case for formats that have not proven themselves yet.

  • Ability to split your time between direct people leadership and working hands-on through shared hubs when the slate needs it.

  • Comfortable moving between a fast-turn social format on Monday, a podcast brief midweek and a documentary treatment on Friday.

Nice to have

  • Experience at a global or US-headquartered media, entertainment or video business.

  • A background in social-first video, YouTube or podcasting, either platform-side or through building channels directly.

  • Documentary or unscripted development or production credits with slate ownership.

  • International format experience or existing relationships with UK or US talent.

What good looks like

  • At least one format has moved into a longer, more considered format, such as a documentary series or returning show.

  • There is a clear, ranked view of which formats in the current slate have franchise potential, backed by data.

  • The team has visibly grown under your leadership.

We are determined to create a diverse group at all levels of our company and we welcome all members of the community to apply for openings with us. As a leading Gen-Z social publisher, we have a powerful global platform to better represent our audience and enable those that do not have equal opportunities to have their voices heard.
