Location/Division Specific Information

We are in the process of hiring a Head of Manufacturing for Olink, Thermo Fisher Scientific. Your workplace will be at our Uppsala headquarters, where you will report to the Supply Chain Director. You will be responsible for managing a team of dedicated employees, which includes team leaders and managers.

A day in the Life:

In this position, you will be accountable for:

  • Developing and implementing manufacturing strategies to support the company's business objectives and growth plans.

  • Overseeing the end-to-end manufacturing process, ensuring adherence to production schedules, quality standards, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Optimizing manufacturing operations to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality by monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators.

  • Leading and mentoring the manufacturing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

  • Driving initiatives to improve internal processes, from production management to quality control, ensuring operational efficiency across all stages.

  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards within manufacturing operations.

  • Engaging with clients to understand their requirements and ensure products meet their specifications and quality expectations.

  • Managing and developing the team as well as hiring new staff.

  • Budget and work environment responsibility.

Keys to Success:

Qualifications/Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field. A master’s degree or MBA is preferred.

  • 4-5 years of experience managing manufacturing operations, ideally within the life science sector.

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and established guidelines.

  • Established capability in guiding and growing a team.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Expertise in software and tools for manufacturing management.

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a must.

  • Fluent in communication (speaking/read/write) in both Swedish and English.

As a person, you should be a self-motivated and proactive leader with the ability and interest in developing employees, teams, and processes. You should have an outcome-focused approach with an emphasis on continuous improvement.
