Head of UK Institutional

A bit about the job:

The Head of UK Institutional will be responsible for developing and executing a robust sales strategy to drive new business growth among institutional clients in the UK. This role will involve leading a team of sales professionals, proactively pursuing new business opportunities, and achieving sales targets in line with Aviva Investors' global objectives. Within the role, you will work closely with other teams within Aviva Investors, including consultant relations, investment teams, marketing, and Client Relationship Management, to support sales efforts and ensure a cohesive approach to business development. You will also need to proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities with UK pension schemes (DC, LGPS, and DB), endowments, foundations, and OCIO and also support and lead client and prospect pitches, communications, PR, marketing, and representation of Aviva Investors at conferences and local industry events.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Relationships: A comprehensive existing network of relationships amongst the target client base.

  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing a sales team.

  • Investment Knowledge: Strong understanding of investment products and strategies, with proven sales experience in areas relevant to Aviva Investors capabilities (particularly across private market and fixed income).

  • Communication: Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex investment concepts to a diverse audience.

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse market trends and data to inform strategic decisions.

In this role you’ll be ‘Certified’ under the Financial Conduct Authority / Prudential Regulation Authority’s Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR). This means that we’ll need to complete some regulatory background checks on you before you take up your role and we’ll need to ask you some questions on an annual basis to make sure you remain ‘fit and proper’ and competent to carry out your role. We’ll provide training on what holding a SMCR role means when you join us and annually thereafter.
