What you'll do

As a Head of Insight Effectiveness, you’ll be defining and delivering against priority needs for insight, as well as collaborating with and influencing franchise leaders in developing actions to execute on identified growth opportunities. You’ll be working with key stakeholders on the formal, seamless integration of insights into business processes and fostering a culture of taking actions based on a deep customer understanding.

You’ll be guiding and influencing senior franchise leadership in shaping the bank's business strategy and growth choices around the customer of the future, as well as embedding a deep customer understanding into the strategic aims of journeys, products, propositions and customer strategies. Acting as an invaluable insight business partner, you’ll also build relationships and provide customer evidence-based challenge and provocation.

Your key responsibilities

  • Setting the insight strategy in-franchise, defining the role and scope of insight in driving specific decisions and activities, while anticipating future insight needs

  • Delivering compelling customer insight and impactful storytelling across a range of forums including leading senior and exec-level briefings

  • Uncovering substantial growth opportunities by leveraging integrated data, and collaborating with business leaders in developing action plans to harness those opportunities

  • Driving the cultural adoption of insight into decisioning, overseeing its correct and effective usage and executing internal marketing strategies for insight

  • Maximising commercial value to the business through the outcomes of insight, implementing consistent tracking of insight return on investment and holding stakeholders to account for delivering actions

  • Collaborating and coordinating seamlessly across the Customer Intelligence & Effectiveness team, and cultivating business partnering skills across the team, underpinned by a deep commercial and operational understanding of the franchise

The skills you'll need

To make an impact with us, your knowledge, experience and leadership qualities will be key. That’s why we’re looking for a recognised insight leader with demonstrable success of achieving transformational growth or commercial gain through insight-led business strategies and actions.

You’ll need the ability to shape business strategies, backed by a forensic understanding of franchise operations and commercial or industry context. You’ll also bring leadership and interpersonal skills, and a proven record of being an indispensable adviser to businesses, forging strong collaborative senior partnerships and guiding c-suite thinking.

On top of this, you’ll need:

  • To be comfortable with managing a wide range of stakeholders, and directing how they interpret and leverage insight to drive growth

  • Extensive senior level experience of customer insight, marketing or planning in a complex matrix environment

  • A deep and detailed understanding of customer needs within the financial industry

  • Extensive detailed knowledge of a broad range of insight and foresight techniques, with the ability to apply them to solve complex business problems

  • Experience of synthesising insight from multiple sources and translating it into credible business plans, brought to life through compelling stories

  • The ability to coordinate and collaborate across multiple teams, driving the continuous evolution of insight practices
