Head of HR Planning

Your new role

This  role  is  part  of  the  global  Compensation  &  Benefits  function.  To  ensure  that  the  global  cost, headcount  and  budget  process  is  delivered  as  per  the  budget  guidelines  and  calendar  to  define  a common  standardised  approach  to  provide  consistent  and  timely  data  to  key  stakeholders. 

The incumbent is accountable for data consolidation and final data validation following the Global FP&A team and Operational HR review.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

To  work  with  Regional/Operational  HR,  C&B,  Finance,  Corporate  and  cross-functional  leadership teams  in  managing  workforce  planning/employee  productivity  budgets  across  lines  of  business,  by ensuring  the  design,  definition  and  communication  of  common  processes  and  timelines  to  collect
labour cost data, to consolidate and consistently analyse direct and indirect labour cost data from the business, countries and regions.

To  partner  with  Hitachi  Rail’s  Finance  teams  and  Corporate  to  drive  business  insights  and  process efficiencies and ensure alignment across teams.

To partner with the CHRO office to manage, analyse, report, and drive functional spend efficiencies to include developing comprehensive annual budgets for functional areas driving Labour Costs analysis.

To ensure the design and development of Hitachi Rail’s HR data reporting structure defining relevant timelines, data to be reported and the related reporting methods and systems.

To  coordinate  and  execute  monthly  financial  and  operational  performance  reporting  for  functional leadership  teams  including  analysis  of  variances,  current  and  past  trends  in  all  areas  of  SG&A expenses.

To ensure the collation and report of the data (headcount, labour cost) evolution to support business proposals, project requirements, ESG reporting etc as and when required.

To conduct external market research on workforce planning and make recommendations for improvement areas and associated costs based on current best practices around workforce analytics topics, tools, and methods

Strong business acumen and understanding of HR processes with ability to align HR analytics initiatives to organizational goals.

Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to work and communicate with senior stakeholders and employees at all levels.

Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing; ability to influence using charts and visualisation.

Strong team working skills, able to work collaboratively across the HR and other functions.

Microsoft office suite, particularly excel for workforce planning reporting and data analytics
