Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of GMS Strategy and Operations to lead our Medical and Pharmacovigilance department's strategic and strategy realisation initiatives. This role will be responsible for overseeing budget management, clinical trial governance, medical information alignment, project management, coordination of global medical processes, change management, performance tracking and standardization of global deliverables, among other critical areas

Key Responsibilities:

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage the Medical and PV department's budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
  • Monitor budget performance and implement cost-effective strategies.
  • Collaborate with Finance and other departments to align budgetary goals with organizational objectives.

Clinical Trial Governance:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and governance of ISTs and GE HC sponsored studies
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical standards.
  • Coordinate with external partners, including CROs and research institutions as necessary

Medical Information:

  • Lead the development and dissemination of accurate and timely medical information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure that medical communications are evidence-based and aligned with current guidelines.

Project Management:

  • Manage and oversee key medical projects from initiation to completion.
  • Develop project plans, set milestones, and ensure timely delivery.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.

Global Medical Processes Coordination:

  • Standardize and streamline global medical processes to enhance efficiency and consistency.
  • Foster collaboration and communication across global medical teams.
  • Ensure alignment of medical strategies with global business goals.

Standardization of Global Deliverables:

  • Develop and implement standardized templates and processes for global deliverables.
  • Ensure the consistency and quality of medical documentation and reports.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of standardized processes and make improvements as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Medicine, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in medical affairs, drug safety, clinical development, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing budgets and leading clinical trial governance.
  • Strong project management skills with experience in coordinating global medical processes.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry guidelines.
  • Experience at local, regional and global level
  • Direct team leadership of teams of 10+
  • Prior experience in turnaround or transformation scenarios where you were pivotal in changing how an organisation operated on local, regional and global level
  • Prior experience as a country Medical Director desirable
  • Prior pharmaceutical industry experience in mid- to large companies desirable
  • Prior experience in similar roles strongly preferred
