The role involves assessing credit worthiness, financial analysis, managing relationships, and producing high-quality credit reports for project and infrastructure finance.

We’re reinventing payments.
In less than four years, Dojo disrupted the market to become the largest and most loved acquirer in the UK. Our payments infrastructure, purpose-built for in-person commerce, is game changing.

Now, over 150,000 customers across four countries choose to transact billions with us every year.
But we’re just getting started.

Our people are the driving force behind our success. They are our greatest investment and our ultimate competitive advantage. We hire exceptional people and give them the autonomy, trust, and ownership to thrive. The results take care of themselves.

The Role

As Head of Financial Crime and Fraud Operations, you will set the strategy and lead the execution of Dojo’s Fraud and Transaction Monitoring capability across the business. This is a senior leadership role that combines deep technical and analytical expertise with the ability to inspire teams, influence stakeholders, and build a strong, values-led culture.

You will own the end-to-end Financial Crime and Fraud Operations framework, ensuring Dojo is protected from fraud and financial crime risk while supporting sustainable growth. Working closely with the MLRO, you will ensure clear alignment and seamless delivery across 1st and 2nd line functions, embedding a practical, data-driven and commercially balanced approach.

This role is ideal for someone with strong industry knowledge who can build and evolve sophisticated models and frameworks, lead high-performing teams, and act as a trusted authority across the organisation.

What you’ll do
  • Define, own and continuously evolve Dojo’s Financial Crime and Fraud Operations strategy, frameworks and operating model

  • Lead, inspire and develop a specialist Fraud & Financial Crime Operations team, creating a high-performance, accountable and inclusive culture

  • Partner closely with the MLRO and wider Risk function to ensure clear ownership and effective execution across 1st and 2nd line activities

  • Own the relationship with Featurespace, ensuring optimal use of tooling, continuous enhancement of capability, and cost efficiency

  • Design, implement and optimise fraud rules, models and transaction monitoring approaches that are scalable, data-led and effective

  • Build advanced analytical models, forecasting and trend analysis to proactively identify emerging risks and inform decision-making

  • Develop and maintain meaningful KRIs and KPIs that provide clear insight into risk exposure, operational performance and outcomes

  • Oversee a technology-enabled KYC/CDD and ongoing monitoring programme that supports scale while maintaining quality and efficiency

  • Act as a senior partner to the business, educating and influencing Sales, Merchant and Product teams where appropriate

  • Represent Dojo externally on financial crime and fraud topics, contributing to industry forums and strengthening Dojo’s reputation

What you’ll bring
  • 10+ years’ experience in Financial Crime, Fraud and Transaction Monitoring within financial services, payments or fintech

  • Strong technical and analytical capability, including experience building and evolving fraud models, rules and monitoring frameworks

  • Proven senior leadership experience, with a track record of building, motivating and developing high-performing teams

  • Deep understanding of the payments and financial services landscape, including fraud typologies and operating models

  • Solid knowledge of FCA expectations and regulatory requirements across Financial Crime and Fraud, with a clear understanding of 1st and 2nd line responsibilities

  • Experience presenting to and influencing senior leadership and Board-level stakeholders

  • A collaborative, commercially minded leadership style with strong cultural alignment

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, scaling environment and leading through change

Dojo home and away

We believe our best work happens when we collaborate in-person. These “together days” foster communication, drive innovation and spark our brightest ideas.

That's why we have an office-first culture. This means working from the office 4+ days per week.

With offices across Europe, we know a thing or two about staying dynamic. Need deep focus? Head to a quiet zone. Big ideas? Collaboration spaces have you covered. Just here for a catch-up? Our social hubs make it easy. Do work that counts, in spaces made for you.

Question: what’s curious, relentless, and customer obsessed?

If you’re keen to know the answer, you’re a third of the way to meeting our Dojo values.

If the following speak to you, let’s talk:

  • You’re curious. You have a real desire to learn and create.
  • You’re relentless. You keep going even when it’s easier not to.
  • You’re customer-obsessed. You know how important customers are to what you do.
