About the role

We are looking for a Head of Payments Operations to make an impact by working closely with the Finance department and driving excellence in safeguarding and regulatory compliance. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented professional to take ownership of a critical function within our organization.

This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact, ensuring the safety and integrity of client funds while driving innovation and efficiency in financial operations.

What the role involves

  • Lead and oversee the Payments Operations (Safeguarding) team to ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements in the UK and Poland (and any other countries where we handle client money).
  • Maintain accurate segregation and reconciliation of client funds in accordance with FCA and KNF regulations.
  • Maintain, implement, and automate robust processes for daily monitoring of safeguarded accounts, ensuring that client funds are protected at all times.
  • Manage and lead a team of two analysts.
  • Ensure timely and accurate production of required regulatory reporting.
  • Work closely with compliance and legal teams to stay ahead of any changes to safeguarding regulations and implement necessary adjustments proactively.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency within the safeguarding function.
  • Develop, update, and maintain safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure they are current and compliant.
  • Conduct regular training and communication sessions with the wider finance team to promote understanding and adherence to safeguarding principles.
Requirements
    • 5+ years experience running a team managing client safeguarded funds.
    • Proven track record of working with regulators, for example the KNF or the FCA.
    • Experience in a fast-paced start-up or high-growth environment, ideally within payments, fintech, or financial services.
    • Experience in designing and implementing safeguarding policies and procedures.
    • Demonstrable history of automation of processes.

What happens next?

    • Selected candidates will be invited for an initial interview with our Talent Acquisition representative. The video meeting will take about 30-45 minutes.
    • As a next stage, you will be asked to solve and send back the MS Excel test within 40 minutes after you receive it. 
    • Then it’s time for a second interview! The meeting will be conducted by our SVP of Finance and SVP of Legal, lasting 30-45 minutes.
    • Our Interim CEO and our Interim CFO would also like to chat with you. You can expect the meeting to last approximately 30 minutes.
    • Then, it’s time to meet your future direct reports! The meeting will take 30 minutes,
    • If successful, you will be given a job offer proposal.
