As the Head of Finance for Nigeria, you will step into the role of the institutional financial leader for our highest-volume business unit in the region, operating as a true 360-degree Market CFO. Your mission extends far beyond traditional financial oversight, requiring you to actively balance the responsibility of being the business's structural "Shield" by safeguarding compliance, tax frameworks, and mitigating legal risks, while simultaneously acting as its strategic "Motor" to accelerate business partnering and EBITDA growth. In this high-impact position, you will be hyper-focused on the finance function, taking complex local operational realities and translating them seamlessly into clear financial strategies while establishing deeply trusted, influential relationships with our global HQ finance leadership.

What you'll get to do:

  • Lead FP&A: Spearhead future planning cycles, build business scenarios, and map clear paths to market profitability.
  • Drive Commercial Growth: Propose and execute data-backed initiatives to optimize both top- and bottom-line performance.
  • Own Local Controlling: Direct monthly closing reviews, establish financial provisions, and ensure robust reporting packages.
  • Conduct Variance Analysis: Deep-dive into deviations between Actuals and Budgets to keep the leadership team continuously aligned.
  • Manage Auditor Relationships: Serve as the primary contact for Big 4 auditors, delivering regular updates and establishing strong technical defenses for financial statements.
  • Mitigate Risk: Manage legal, regulatory, and tax risks by formulating practical, localized mitigation strategies.
  • Safeguard Cash Flow: Oversee treasury operations and core workflows, including billing and Accounts Payable.
  • Liaise with Global HQ: Partner with global finance teams to surface regional risks/opportunities and share local process improvements to elevate corporate standards.

Qualifications

  • Technical Finance Mastery: 5 to 10 years of solid experience growing up within technical finance disciplines (Accounting, Tax, Treasury, and FP&A Planning).
  • The “Ex-Big 4” Combined Pedigree: A proven background spanning Tier 1 Audit / Big 4 experience, combined with at least 5 years of in-house corporate finance management experience.
  • EBITDA Stewardship: Demonstrated experience monitoring P&L targets and managing financial constraints with an "early-warning" mindset.
  • Cross-Functional Fluency: Strong understanding of how commercial levers, logistics, operations, and marketing drive the local P&L.
  • Strategic Influence & Courage: High-impact communication capacity to respectfully challenge local and HQ C-suite leaders using data-driven insights.
  • Target Industry Background: Experience working within high-growth tech scale-ups or FMCG/Retail multinationals is highly preferred.
