Head of ESG Integration – Equities

This is a great job for someone who is a great technical, peoples’ manager who is passionate about designing and developing high-impact integration strategies for equities that drive enhanced investment performance, through relevant, timely and targeted ESG research.

A bit about the job:

As the Head of ESG Integration – Equities at Aviva Investors, you will spearhead the development and execution of our ESG integration strategy within the equities franchise, aligning with our commercial objectives. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a deep passion for ESG thematic research, substantial sell-side experience, and a comprehensive understanding of the investment process. In this role, you will lead the creation and dissemination of high-quality ESG thematic research and sectoral insights that directly support the equities investment process, drive idea generation, and inform portfolio managers' decision-making. You will design and implement high-impact ESG integration strategies for equities, enhancing investment performance through timely, relevant, and targeted ESG research. Collaboration and mentorship are key aspects of this position, as you will partner closely with portfolio managers and equity analysts to deepen their understanding of ESG issues, enhance accountability, and demonstrate the integration of ESG considerations in mainstream funds. Additionally, you will develop asset class-specific engagement programs in collaboration with the equities and Stewardship teams, strengthening Aviva Investors' commercial position on sustainability through compelling ESG integration and engagement narratives that showcase improved client outcomes. Leadership is also a crucial component, as you will foster cohesion around Aviva Investors' ESG vision within the ESG Integration - Equities team and promote our ESG leadership externally.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Extensive experience in conducting and disseminating dynamic ESG thematic research and sectoral insights.

  • Strong sell-side experience with a deep understanding of the investment process.

  • Proven track record in designing and developing ESG research that drives enhanced investment performance through actionable insights.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with portfolio managers and equity analysts to integrate ESG considerations into investment decisions.

  • Ability to build and lead a high-performance team, promoting Aviva Investors’ ESG vision and leadership.

 In this role you’ll be ‘Certified’ under the Financial Conduct Authority / Prudential Regulation Authority’s Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR). This means that we’ll need to complete some regulatory background checks on you before you take up your role and we’ll need to ask you some questions on an annual basis to make sure you remain ‘fit and proper’ and competent to carry out your role. We’ll provide training on what holding a SMCR role means when you join us and annually thereafter.
