Head of Engineering

The Role

We’re looking for a Head of Engineering who wants to build the products that define the next era of blockchain.

As a Head of Engineering, you’ll lead the teams building the applications that bring the Tezos ecosystem to life. You’ll shape the way developers interact with the network and how users experience blockchain products.

You’ll oversee a 35-person engineering organisation working across flagship products like Uranium.io, a decentralised marketplace for tokenised uranium, and Umami, a core multi asset wallet product for the Web3 community.

This is a role is about impact. You’ll have the freedom to set technical direction, champion engineering excellence, and guide product thinking from concept to launch. You’ll collaborate closely with the Tezos Co-Founder and leadership team to decide what gets built and why. The decisions you make here will shape how the user experience the Tezos ecosystem.

Tezos is an open-source blockchain known for its flexibility, security, and unique self-evolving capabilities. What you’ll do

• Define and execute the engineering strategy in line with the Tezos roadmap and broader business objectives.

• Lead with product focus working hand‑in‑hand with Product, Design, and Commercial leaders to build solutions that solve real user problems.

• Provide strategic direction and coaching, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and speed.

• Champion delivery focus and general operational and executional excellence whilst being rigorously customer centric

• Stay on top of emerging technologies and trends within the blockchain and cryptocurrency space, selecting technologies and tools to optimise performance and scalability

• Establish and enforce data-driven quality standards and best practices for software development, including code reviews, testing, and performance monitoring

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise development processes, tools, and methodologies.

• Own the management of resources, budgets, and timelines effectively

What you’ll need

• A strong technical foundation: You’ve been a Senior/Staff/Principal Engineer and still want to solve complex technical problems.

• Experience managing engineering teams

• A passion and track record of building products end users love

• Experience leading large complex projects with the ability to prioritise effectively and deliver quality solutions within deadlines

• Experience in the blockchain space is ideal, but a genuine passion and curiosity works too.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
