Head of Engineering

Set the technical vision and the commercial strategy. As well as possessing the drive to lead, motivate, and inspire a team in electrification.

World leader in the technical development and design of electric drive systems across the automotive, aerospace, energy and industrial sectors..

The role:

Entrepreneurial and innovative business leader with vision and the ability to set commercial strategy. Extremely flexible and resourceful in managing change and developing new markets. This is a wide ranging strategic role, with a focus on growing the business .

Main Responsibilities

·Technology Leader for design, development and delivery of innovative world class electro-mechanical drives.

·Technical vision and commercial strategy to drive the business forward.

·Automotive, Aerospace and Energy sectors.

·electro-mechanical systems, including - drive and power systems, controls, electrical systems, electric motors, and gearboxes.

·Management of Design Engineers

·Commercial (Business Development, Key Accounts, P&L)

·Develop a global business model, strategic partnerships and joint ventures.

Experience Required

·Mechanical or electrical engineering background & degree.

Technical leader & manager of design engineers

·Design of electro-mechanical systems: Drive & power systems, controls, electrical systems, electric motors and/ or gearboxes.

·Demonstrate global, multi-disciplined project team management experience.

·Highly driven and self-motivated, with an ability to deliver results within tight deadlines.

Preferable

·8+ years in a technology environment, ideally from combined product and service business

·Further Degree /Professional qualification

·Experience of working in Asia (ideally China or India)

·Business Growth: Business Development, New Product Introduction, Account Management

·Electric Vehicle or complex Electro-Mechanical Systems knowledge.

NB: This is a senior level role for experienced Engineering Managers with a relevant background in Electro-Mechanical (or similar) and with a track record of using projects for business growth.
